CD or MR for a law enforcer? - James.Caan - 03-08-2011

This is the 458th installment of my encyclopaedic series of stoopid noob questions:

I have a Liberty Navy Char flying a Guardian - it's fitted entirely with Vengeance V guns as I've tried various codes and magma wotsits but can occassionally manage to hit something with a fast-firing weapon.

Now, the question is: I notice most similar chars mounting a Mini-Razor and doing without a CD. Surely without a CD any baddie you stop just flicks two fingers at you and cruises off? What would you fit, a CD or MR and why?

Cheers!

A MR, and a mate of mine with a CD. If we are in group.

If you make patrols/pirating CD is mandatory.

If your char is fro duels, well. Depends on your fighting style and abilities.

Well, depends. Which one suits you best? As for the enemy flying away...well, you your job is to make the area safe again, if they just cruise away, you did your job well.

So, if you can use a MR in battler go for it, even better if you have a buddy with you. But I still prefer using a CD into battle, it's matter of taste 8-|

MR is more something for military, who take ground and hold ground. Check the description of CDs... the standard CD was originally designed to "stop fleeing pirates" as I recall.

But it really goes to player style.

I can't count the number of times I got caught by Bounty Hunters that would have killed me if they were using a CD.
But as a LN, stopping your target from fleeing may not be important. After all, if the pirate flees, you've done your job, right ?
Also, keep in mind that a CD won't be of any help if you can't aim with it.

Edit : Grammar.

I have several Navy/Military/Naval Forces characters that use the Mini Razor instead of the CD.
Reason: It is a Military character, therefore a WAR-ship.(imho) And I'll like it to stay that way. Law enforcements can be done by the Police. If a pirate runs, I'm fine with that.

How exactly can you 'enforce' something to someone if they can simply cruise away?
