...deliberately messing with people's characters?

Here's the story:

I was trying to set a Xeno-friendly character up for a faction Im about to start.
So I went to Arnes Research station to get the bribe, made sure my Xenos tab was green and then headed to Tau 45. On the way there I discovered my Xenos rep tab had GONE BACK TO RED ON ITS OWN!!! 845k down the drain.

Also earlier, I changed my name to x]M[x-Sordid, accordingly to my new faction tag which I'll announce soon, it was an almost brand new character with mostly friendly/neutral rep with all lawfuls. I was docked at Rochester and logged out a bit. When I came back and undocked I was RED TO EVERYONE except Zoners. I was ok with that mind you, since my new faction was about being hostile to nearly everyone, but everyone except Xenos actually.

So excuse my french Admins but WTF??

Yeah. Our server uses a system call rephack where certain IDs will make you hostile with your intended enemies by default. So if you're using something like a Navy ID you will always be hostile to the Xenos, for example.

This setting is activated upon undock.

If you're trying to get into the Xeno guard system via a bribe make sure that you have some manner of generic ID, such as Mercenary, FL or Civilian.

Good overall rule of thumb:)

Well actually it's because I wanted that new Marauder faction with a Pirate ID tag to be able to land on one of the Xenos bases to resupply, as my faction will have ties with Phantoms, failed brainwashing experiement kinda thing if you catch my drift. It'll all be black on white soon but I'd like to get things ready with chars first. But I guess Pirate ID and friends with Xenos wont happen because of this. I'll have to make up another story to base Marauder "HQ" from.

Sordid carries a pirate ID, which will make you red to practically all lawful factions. It will reset all reps on undocking, so bribes are a waste of time and virtual money.

Oooooooh yeah. Xenos generally frown on pirates using their bases as launch points.

See: Murder them over and over and over again.

You can't go wrong with Barrier Gate station in Coronado!

Well, got any better idea which type of base for Marauders (Reavers) to resupply from?

They're meant to have been driven madbloodthirsty by Phantom experiments performed on them for the C'tan, would Junkers be somewhat "friendly" to that sort of thing? I can't think for Zoners either.
Well nevermind, thx.

Sounds like you're trying for a "kill em all" faction. Which is fine, just means you'll have nowhere to dock. You may be able to get away with a mobile resupply base once carrier docking becomes available in 4.86.
