I've been having problems for over 3 weeks regarding my FLID. I need a new one, but my stupid computer won't accept any generated ones.
When I reinstalled the game the box asking for a new ID was blank. Normally it would have a code in it in case I didn't have an ID. It didn't, and it won't accept anything I type in it.
I tried a key generator program for my ID, but it won't work, no matter where I place the file. I can't figure this out and I am about to explode regarding it. It's freaking ridiculous that all this was caused by my mod randomly becoming corrupted, I had to reinstall the game and the mod. I almost wish I could blame someone, but it's just my computer.
Any help would be appreciated, if I don't get this sorted out I am quitting Discovery.
edit: I made a new windows account to generate an ID as well, and it didn't work either. It was still empty.
edit2: What is the FAM directory? I might of found a solution but I still would like some advice. apparently the keygen needs put in there, but the instructions on my keygen are really fuzzy
edit3: I will keep working on this, but go ahead an answer. I think I can use the account manager to import the generated ID into. but even after this I still have to get my one character back

Do you import the newly created account from FLKeyGenerator into Freelancer Account Manager?

I think that's what it wants me to do, just downloaded it, but it says it cannot not detect anything at all.

What's your Freelancer directory?

Tried reinstalling Freelancer? Incase some registries are missing.
Try running up the registry editor (Start>Run>Type in regedit) navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Microsoft
Microsoft Games
Freelancer
1.0
Then see if there are any registries indicating an account ID. They should show as something like MPAccountName and MPAccountNameSig.
If not try find/create those registries, I could upload some for you if you'd like.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't your installation key different to your account keys?
Edit: Also, don't bother with FAM, it's horribly outdated.

The guy that sent me the program told me it works for that too, and it does have a save/FAM button.
I don't know anymore, Im just going to delete everything freelancer related on my computer and reinstall.

When I once had this problem, it dissapeared when I downloaded update 1 from microsoft.

Indeed it is, however I thought it would be proper to add since he never stated that the Disco mod was activated at the time of his blank box encounter.
