Right, so, it looks to me like only 6 SF are active, which is just barely cutting it for an official faction...also, there are some technicalities over whether I can actually run 2 factions....so, the thought is, that I merge them...They are both BAF, after all.
So, if you could all sign in...I'm expecting Stratus (admiral), Kiggles(admiral), Dieter Shprockets (Lieutenant), Spear (Lieutenant), Simsonator (Cadet), and Hunter-Gatherer (Cadet)...tell me RP characters and names too, not exactly familiar with you people, and for that, I apologize.
The Idea Hype and I passed around, a while back, was about a political rivalry between the SF, who are run under the mandates of the traditional Admiralty, and the QCO, who, basically, used some quick talking and political ramrodding (and the Queen, of course,) to get their proposals for the fleet ramrodded through parliament....naturally, the regular admiralty doesn't think much of this.
So, I do think there should be some changes, espesialy with the 'police' aspect of Bretonia...we are not in a state of national emergency, and we do not condone martial law *glares at rheinland* and besides, we have a police faction now.
For one thing....the ranks need a rewrite...2 admirals with a Lt each doesn't make much sense to me....
So, if any of you, (especially those of you who have a longer experience in bretonia than me) have any direction you would like the SF (and basically the whole, united BAF, now) to go, or suggestions on how to operate the merger, please speak up, because, to be frank, I'm rather unprepared. Really not sure what to do: while I would like to just suck you into the QCO...You have a long history on the server, and an established system of operation that is vastly different.
Only other thing that I can think of is....Salisbury....and...what to do...

Well, I operated in the SF for a considerable time so I want to comment in this one. They recently got some new members. I would say try to keep them alive. They have a a solid background on which you could build on in time. The merging of new factions make things quite hardship I know. The straying of attention. You could contact me via Skype anytime if you have questions in mind or need help about the way to continue and operate.
Wish Stratus and Kiggles were more active :(

I was literally just recruited into SF but unfortuantely during this wierd transistion phase. Although keeping SF the same is an option, you could also rename it to say..."Queen Carina's Navy" or "Queen Carina's Fleet" and just keep the command structure and rules the same. That would be similar to a merge without changing too much. Then again, I just joined so whatever the older SF members wish to do takes precedence. The main reason I'm posting is to say that whatever happens, I'd like to stick with it. I haven't created a character yet and I'll just wait to do so until a decision is made, that way the naming scheme will be correct.
Edit: Almost forgot. Like I said I haven't created an SF character yet but my other characters are =LSF=Motown and MotownTradingInc, if either of those seem familiar.

i'm not sure if you want outside opinions but i had an idea...
what if: due to the Queen being unhappy with the performance the admiralty has had in the war with Kusari, she excercises her royal right to assume command of the bretonian military as a whole.
with that you could leave it under her control or she can delegate it to one single person whom she trusts to "get the job done"
it sounded good in my head anyway :)

Well, the Queen doesn't really have that sort of power, She has to sign the laws, making them official, which essentially gives her veto power, but the Admiralty does not answer to her, and if she were to seize control (though the QCO would follow her) most Bretonians would be horrified. They are a free people.
Besides that, the QCO is her effort at getting the 'Job done right' and the SF is the traditional fleet...

Merging will probably make even more members inactive (or their inactivness will be spotted, to be precise) but its a needed thing, in my opinion.

I would say, change the faction name to BAF or something else which could be recognized in common and unite the people in SF with QCO and QCP. Since the both use the BAF ID if I'm not wrong. Prepare a new faction thread and I would try to help with that as much as I could.

Just a quick point, the SF was originally a merger of the Liberty Sentinels and another Bretonia faction...so they really are not the tradition fleet. They seem to have undertaken this role recently.
