Gurkha who repelled Taliban attack gets bravery medal - Mickk - 03-25-2011 Believe it or not, I agree with Fletcher. Joining the army IS going to get him a life. It'll be a hard one until he gets used to it, but he can look forward to being able to travel a reasonable amount and not having to worry about where he gets his next meal from. As for the Gurkha, good for him. Medals aren't handed out lightly these days. Also, Gurkha's are like other countries elite fighting men. You name the elite fighters, be it SEAL, SAS (Australian or British), Force Recon (US Marine special forces), these guys are as good. The Canadian Sniper divisions are some of the best trained warriors in the world. Same with the Aussie Sniper/Trackers RoK Marines (Republic of Korea) are some of the craziest guys I ever trained with, and extremely well trained. Force Recon Marines (now called MARSOC "Marine Special Operations Command) Some of the most highly trained warriors in the world. They, like most other elite soldiers/warriors train with all the other allied/brotherly elite forces. Israeli Special Forces are nothing short of outstanding. for more information on the worlds elite forces.. you can find links here http://www.specwarnet.net/sf.htm |
