The super ORE - Veygaar - 03-31-2011 Ok, so i kinda though of this idea just a few mins ago, but would like some discussion. Say theres a massive mine-able field in say Kansas. It has really good yield, or maybe infinite. BUT, the only selling spot is a super military base in say Omicron 99. Maybe its a 'Other Galaxy expeditionary Station' or something to explain why is can withstand the Phontoms. So the thing is this, make each ore sell for prices upwards of 25k each, maybe more? This will make group effor a MUST in order for someone to complete these kind of runs. Discuss! note- Starting and ending locations are not important other than that they are FAR apart, and VERY dangerous. Have at! LUV The super ORE - Talesin - 03-31-2011 A route that actually benefits the use of Freighters due to the high risks met on the path? I'd approve of this idea, even though the story behind it is kinda - weird. Regards, Talesin The super ORE - dodike - 03-31-2011 I've seen it before. The mining fields were in Pennsylvania and ore was sold on super-KSP base in New Tokyo. Phantoms were [AFA] tagged or even disguised as miners. Good times. The super ORE - Uzed - 03-31-2011 This would kill the indies playing alone, and increase pirating at a single spot, also it would enormously rise the pprices for escorts -> less profit, less motivation to mine. I dont see potential here, but good to see ppl are thinking about it The super ORE - kun - 03-31-2011 the idea is good. startin' point somewhre in omega 50 and drop point in burgundy. you'll get 500 mio / run. only 1 unit. requires a cargo space of 40k. only an unarmored barge is able to transport it. Btw the pirates + the barge waiting in burgundy for you to finally arrive is not a faction, only a group of people without battleships  The super ORE - Veygaar - 03-31-2011 ' Wrote:This would kill the indies playing alone, and increase pirating at a single spot, also it would enormously rise the pprices for escorts -> less profit, less motivation to mine.Indy with a 5k? selling for 25k a piece? 125m profit. --> hires 4 guys for 10 mil each, makes 85 mil and has some good action. Pirates in one spot? Well i bet they won't be waiting anywhere near a phantom/nomad infested border-world. And thats what escorts are for no? More action for everyone. Less profit? If so, up selling price to 35k:D cheers EDIT- @Dakun- Your ideas really scare me sometimes mate... But having the sell base in Phantom territory might prompt the Official Faction *coughs* Admins *cough* to play more...??? What a picture. I like the idea. Barges pirating barges. ?????? The super ORE - LONGBOW - 03-31-2011 Maybe something to consider doing as an event, but I don't think it's a good idea to implement this into standard play. |
