The Erie sun shone strongly that mid-afternoon on the large, mansion-like ruins of the Tigre Family Estate. The breeze was slight, the skies were clear, and there was only one person in the middle of the large plaza, escorted by a plethora of different droids.

The blonde, old woman in her mid 60's who tied her hair back in a messy ponytail, with her faint-yellow eyes backed by some large, round spectacles, strolled around the place a bit in a relaxed manner... Seems the day was going slower than usual. With Michinson gone for another Trade run in the Vagabond III along with his wife, the younger kids enjoying a dip on the far-off Ptolemy River, and the others trying to find some work in Jettison City, the old woman felt the place as empty for the time being...

... But it already was, anyway... Though the Entrance Quarters was large enough to fit several families in just one of its wings, there was of little value within those halls, being without much furniture, furnishings or even art like paintings and somesuch. The place was basically a large, empty ruined building with a great big plaza in front of it, save for the several rooms that were being used by its current tenants.

It was a huge place, nonetheless... The old woman looked back towards her droids, and sighs with a smile of relief, knowing that without these little helpers she would've never been able to finish cleaning up the rooms that were being used, let alone the countless others not usually utilized, even if she spent the whole 24-hours doing so.

The old woman strolls further down until she entered The Courtyard. This was generally the large, open plaza in front of the Entrance Quarters where ground vehicles pass through to get inside the Entrance Quarters; it was also where the tenants' and visitors' ships would land. The Courtyard was so big, one could easily fit 5 Borderworld Transports side-by-side, and they would occupy only 1/4th of the entire area. Large, movable Gravitonic Landing Apparati were there: they served as support for landed ships ((hint: they are the emitters that create these rings under your ship whenever it's landed in-game)).

After inspecting if all of the GLA's were in working condition, she walks further down the plaza until she got to the large, cracked fountain. This fountain didn't work, but so did many other things in this Estate. Still, it was a beautiful fountain, despite its run-down and weathered nature.

The old woman takes a seat on the rim of the fountain, evidently exhausted from trying to keep the complex spic-and-span to the best of her ability. She looks up into the sky with a frown, and whispers to herself in a strong, Rheinland accent, "... Frau Milaroza... Herr Leonardo... Vhere are zyou two...?"

Throught the trip to Liberty, Ellie chattecm.sd with the occupants of the transport. But once she entered Liberty, she fell silent. She quietly followed the transport. Ellie paused as she looked the towards the direction of the California Jumpgate when they entered New York, and sighed, but stayed silent until the ships arrives at Erie and made it below the atmosphere.

Ellie seemed to be a fine sort of lady when Mila first met her. The part of the trip from New Tokyo to Galileo, as Mila continued to rest on the medical bed, Ellie was there to strike a conversation and break the silence other than the weird (but sometimes wondrous) robots that walked around the cargo bay of the ship. Besides, Jasmine was also resting in her own sleeping pod during the trip, which made her obviously unavailable for small talk.

Why Ellie suddenly falling silent when they entered Liberty made Mila worry to a degree... She remembered that Ellie said her home was based on Planet Los Angeles, so she ought be a bit more relaxed and welcoming of giving a bird's-eye view of what it was like in the Hunter-household. Sadly, this was not the case, and in fact, the mood of the cargo bay changed to that of anxiety. Could there have been something Ellie was shouldering to herself that she didn't want Mila to know? Could also be that Ellie just became vigilant during their trip through Liberty, which would be a fine enough reason for the sudden silence... Still, it didn't feel right to Mila, who just couldn't quite put her finger on the subject.

Meh... It didn't really matter that much. Mila was finally going home! After several months of being away from the familiar ruins and abandoned mini-cities full of excitement of adventure that she and Leonardo once enjoyed together, the many wondrous and interesting things they saw in those expeditions, the times that she had experienced...

"... With... Leon... ardo..." But all of a sudden, more tears filled her eyes again from the old memories of joy and happiness that she may never get to repeat again. She was slowly realizing the possibility that, though she may have come back safe and sound, her brother might not. No more happy times... no more adventures... It may be possible she would be a lone survivor... to carry the extreme guilt of having ignored her brother's last wishes for her to stay back on the Estate... to have ignored his warnings... and now look what happened? Grave injuries, a ship under the Tigre Family's ownership destroyed, and her brother now missing... maybe even... dead? The mere thought of her beloved brother, dead and floating in the far-flung fringes of the emptiness that is space... sent shivers down her delicate soul.

... but no, no, she thought. She had already been given lots of support from her rescuers to help track down where her beloved Leonardo currently was. They were all very comforting to her, so very supportive, so very full of potential success that to think these grim and macabre thoughts would be like doubting her rescuers' sincerity. Mila had to believe in her brother to be alive... she must... for it was the only just thing to do when everyone's trying to help you.

Mila closes her eyes again and naps on the bed as she felt the ship move ever forward... Soon, Planet Erie came into view... they would enter the docking ring... they would descend through the atmosphere... and Mila hoped that by the time she would look out the window of the ship, she would see the Erie sun greeting her with a warm, bright light.

The X-Shuttle fell through the atmosphere of the planet, its various inhabitants unaware of the speed within the ship's hull. It homed unconsciously on the co-ordinates for the estate, soon touching down on one of the GLA, steam pouring from vents near the back as the bay soundlessly opened.

Ellie watched as her Raven's Talon touched down.

"Well, Kairi isnt a total waste of hard drive space..." Ellie smiled at Mila and stood, holding out her hand to Mila. "Happy to be home?"

All of a sudden, one of the Helper-droids hovers forward to the old woman's front, and then mechanically said, ::: Miss Faustbeign. Estate Perimeter Telemetric Scans indicate two vessels on approach within current location. Headings bearing from North 64 East, altitude of 798 Meters descending, velocity at C.S.L. :::

The old woman looked at the robot with amazement; then she responded very urgently, "Vhat do initial scanz indicate of vessel-clazzez, ID and IFF, anz everyzhing elze? How long ago vas zhis information?"

::: Initial scans indicate first vessel as X-Shuttle, Gallic Brigand ID, Gallic Brigand IFF, Casse.Serment Transponder Code, equipped with Medium-degree Armament, three healthy organic lifesigns present, one wounded organic lifesign present, multiple constructs of unidentifiable origin or of background information within current S.N.N.I.D. present ::: default places aerial threat level as blue, ground threat level as yellow :::

::: ALERT --- Vessel seems to have anti-scanning CMs enabled --- Initial scans indicate second vessel as Raven's Talon, unknown ID, Freelancer IFF, unknown Transponder Code, equipped with High-degree Armament, unknown internal structure ::: default places aerial threat level as red, ground threat level as yellow :::

::: General aerial threat level of arriving wing at yellow, general ground threat level as yellow :::

Yellow as the general threat level... this was a worrying sign. Surely potential visitors to the Estate would've contacted her personally to schedule a planned arrival before deciding to bring their ships here... Still, the threat level was yellow, so even though it was risky, it wasn't that dangerous enough to immediately instigate paranoia, "Varm Turbolazerz 7 and 8, activate Security Squadz 6 and 10 and signal zhem to rendezvous ovah to Zhe Courtyard. Also activate Squad 11, in zhe case a firefight vould break out."

After receiving the orders from the old woman, the droid hurriedly leaves. She looks up again towards the sky, only to notice two shapes fast approaching. She adjusts the position of her round spectacles before grinning to herself, "... Veen a vhile zinse ve hadz any vizitorz... Might az vell give zhem zhe red carpet, heheheh... "

She slowly stands up, then began to leisurely stroll back to the main building, with the remaining helper-droids still following behind...

----------

As Mila slowly opened her eyes, the first thing, or person, that greeted her was none other than Ellie Hunter, who was already holding out her hand to help the tired girl get back on her feet.

... Wait... Ellie now began to converse again to her? What's going on? ... But Mila soon reached a realization: her eyes shot wide-open in apparent disbelief, she grabs hold of Ellie's hand without warning, gets up quickly, and paces herself to the window that was now beaming in sunlight. She looks outside...

... and there it was... the Erie sun shining brightly and warmly upon Mila's cold face. The skies were clear and there was nigh a cloud in sight. Mila remembered very well the feeling of the Erie sun smiling its joyful face upon each day that passed on the planet... Then she looked further outside, and it was as if she didn't want to believe where she currently was: she saw it... the Tigre Family Estate Entrance Quarters main building. It's tall, ruined and cragged walls intensely glowing golden-yellow from the light and faded paint. It called out to her... whispered to her... beckoned her... no, told her... that she was home. After all this time, she was finally home.

Eyes could not help but shed tears from the marvelous sight they were beholding...

Ellie rubbed Mila's back. "Nice home. Lets see if anyone..." Ellie paused as something beeped. Checking a datapad, Ellie sighed. "Yeah, we got laser towers and security teams, if Kairi is correct..." Ellie sighed. "How about we go and tell your friends to not blow us to Kingdom Come?"

"... Meep?" She turns to Ellie as if suddenly waking up from a dream, "... Oh oh oh! That must be Nan... ny Helga setting up a welcoming committee!" She continues in a gleeful and cheery tone, "Oh, yaaaay! I can't... wait to meet Nanny Helga... again! Funny, though...! It's been soes long... since I saw her, yet it feels only a few days... had gone by... Effects of prolongued... exposure to Cryogenic Freezing, meep?"

She trots along with Ellie towards the opened Cargo Ramp...

----------

The old woman, who was now with a small band of six medium-sized, buggy-type droids armed with large laser-autocannons alongside her Helper-droids, stopped just five hundred meters away from the Cargo Ramp of the X-Shuttle. She herself held a particularly-large Laser Rifle, yet she wore no armor. She didn't really have much in her, considering her age, so armor would've restricted and encumbered her more than helped.

She affixed her spectacles one more time before she heaved in a breath to mentally prepare herself for what was to come. She could hear the loud, metallic footsteps on the Cargo Ramp as the inhabitants made their way out of the ship. It would've been rude to point the gun as an initiative at something as rare as guests here, so she decided to just hold onto the rifle.

Soon, two dark figures slowly made their way out of the shadows. Anxiety slowly creeped into the old, withered bones of the lady as to what the intentions of these strangers were... What were they doing here? Why have they---

But then a loud, jolly, top-of-the-lungs "MEEEEP!!!" suddenly echoes out of the Cargo Ramp, which caught the old woman completely by surprise she almost flinched. A funny way to initiate a conversation...

... unless...

"MEEEP!!! Nanny Helga! NANNY HEELLLGGAAAAAA, Meeep!" The first figure to be exposed out into the light was this short, Bretonian woman, her dark-copper-toned hair glistening brightly on the sunset, her sky-blue eyes shone with such eager happiness and jubilance. The old woman was further surprised by the fact that this woman knew her name... and she was screaming out a certain word that only one person she knew would---

... Wait... That word... She only knew one person in her life who used such a word frequently in her vocabulary... And that voice... All of it seemed so... so famil---

"Meeeep! Nanny Helga, Nanny Helgaaaaa! I'm back! It's me, Milarosa, meep! Milarosa's home, YAAAAAAYYY! I'm home at LAAAAAAASSST!"

... A figurative-brick had conked the old woman on the head...

"F... F-F-Frau... Mila... roza?!" She just dropped the rifle onto the ground without a second thought and rushed over to Mila as quickly as old age could. This was unheard of! Had Milarosa finally come home after all these months, just like that?

"YAAAA---MMMmmmph!" The excitement of the moment made Mila forget that she was still injured. The pain quickly buckled the woman's legs, making her stumble onto the ground face-first in a very hilarious fashion.

Helga came to her side and helped the poor girl up, "Frau Milaroza! Vhy are zyou alvayz zhis clumsy?" Then she spotted the numerous wrappings and bandages that covered Mila, "Vhy, zyou poor dear! Zyou've been gravely-injured! Vhat in zhe name of God happened to zyou?! Zyou're all messed-up! Vhy, look at zyou! Zyou look like zyou've been in another firefight!"

"Awawawaaa..." Mila blushed shamefully at the old woman, "... So much has happened, Nanny Helga... So much has---"

"Hold zhat zhought, Mila..." She turned her attention towards Ellie, who was already slowly approaching the two, "... and I suppoze zyou're zhe one I should be thanking for zhe safe return ov my beloved, little Mila?"

Jasmine's pod slid open, mist touching the floor as her eyes flickered open. Damn these slow de-boot times. The ship was already empty, a slight commotion outside signalling the whereabouts of her former companions. In seconds her straightjacket was unbuckled, and she stood just beside the entrance, out of sight, listening to the chatter. Only Ellie would've been able to see her leaving the pod, and standing nearby.

Ellie eyed Jasmine but stepped forward.

"Hello, I am Ellie Hunter. Me and Jasmine here...well...Jasmine found Mila, and I arrived a bit late...eh...we decided to escort Mila home."

Ellie falls silent.
