The story of Andrew Carter - Junes - 04-25-2011 Andrew Carter, a passionate and daring bandit Andrew had always been a cunning and rough kind. His ungentle and egoistic manner often ended in disputes and arguments with his fellows, even though he grew up in a quite wealthy vicinity. His parents run an own business, specialized in the manufacturing and distribution of Optical Chips, a lucrative business in Bretonia, especially in Leeds. Due to the war with Kusari the inquiry for Optical Chips was very high, shipbuilding companies had to be delivered constantly to maintain the continual accomplishment of new ships for the Armed Forces. Andrew attended one of the best school educations available on Leeds, he was a keen and intelligent but not very interested student, he rather hung around with his shady pals, doing secret and strange stuff. The time came when Andrew had to look for himself and earn his own money. With the small financial aid of his parents he managed to acquire an old Roc bomber from a scrapdealer. He could hunt up most of the necessary components, in which way ever. As he was a talented and innovative amateur-constructor, he finally managed to get his bird in the air. Nobody ever taught him how to pilote a spaceship, he learnt it himself instead. He used to fly around in one of the two smog-clouds, located a few clicks behind Planet Leeds, getting used to the controls and the little deficits of his Roc. Apart from tiny, dusty, brown rocks there was nothing else in the cloud, until there showed up foreign ships one day, which immediately opened fire on Andrews Roc. Low armed and hardly armored he only managed to escape because of his experience and skills with his beloved Roc. Since this day he was more careful, avoided harsh and lonely areas and tried to make his rounds in areas where the police patrolled. Andrew accepted a few escorting jobs, the payment was always pretty low though. The entire reward often got eaten by the repair and refuel costs of his ship. Obviously not the kind of work he was made for. He dreamt of doing more exciting and risky stuff. This dream became reality in a disastrous and sad way.
In late 818 A.S. the Kusari Naval Forces planned and lead an attack on the defense permimeter of Planet Leeds. Small reconnaissance vessels could sneak the blockade and trouble the main systems of the Derby. No alarm went online, Kusarian assault vessels breached through the front line, terminated orbiting installations and security ships with the goal to clear the way for the heavy bombardement cruisers. In the end the invaders could escape without serious losses. And officer of the BPA had sent an emergency signal, which reached the Armed Forces' headquarter in Salisbury, however, when their supply fleet inbounded Leeds, the Kusari forces retreated quickly before it could be stopped and engaged. Instead, big parts of Leeds' capital had been torn into pieces, buildings got shredded by bombs, including the properties of the Carters. Andrew was on a flight during the attack, the only thing he could do was returning to the ruins of his home, saving remaining valuable goods, his family prolly did not survive. Andrew had no time to mourn for the losses or avenge his parents. He was able to get back a moderate amount of his parents' funds, instead of taking an apartment somewhere in Leeds, he decided to spend his future time in space. However, he did not join any trading or escorting company, nor did he intend to join the Police or even the Armed Forces, there was always another way to survive the harsh and dangerous area called space. With the remaining money he set up his bomber with high quality armor and heavy armements. The days went by, Andrew escorted lonely traders for small rewards, hunted little, unkonwn pirates, claimed and collected the bounty. More and more he couldn't fund his daily costs anymore this way, he started to solve problems in the 'unclean' way. With the months he gradually slid into the dark underground of the society, made deals with greedy individuals, worked with notorious people. One day he decided to threaten and rob the the trader ships, instead of protecting them. Andrew soon had connections to members of the Mollys, Gaians and even the Liberty Rogues and kept up a good attitude to them. With his daily business of cutting tradelanes in systems like Manchester, New London, Cortez or California his assets raised pretty fast. As soon as the scanners showed up any police patrol or bounty hunter Mantas, he retreated into an asteroid or dust field. He lacked at the courage of facing lawful forces until he met the best Roc pilot he'd ever seen: Roger Claymore. Together with him and his previous buddy called Leon Vance, Andrew collected big sums of helpless, unprotected gold ore miners in the fields of Dublin. Together with several mates of Roger, they founded a pirate group called the Rogers' Rocs'. Andrew became quite rich and had the greatest fun in his life. The Rogers' Rocs' roamed about in half Sirius, frightened off traders, even the police rather made a big circle around this bunch of greedy, fearless brigands. Altogether the Rogers' Rocs' managed to kick lawfuls asses where ever they were, they took out whole patrol wings, gunboats and heavy cruisers and once even one of her majesty's mighty, imposing battleships, the higlight of Andrew's career. After months of flying together, the Rogers' Rocs' disbanded more and more, until its members never came together anymore. Anyway Andrew was now wealthy enough to afford it to not having to jump in his Roc every day, Instead he often resided in places like Montezuma Base or Trafalgar. Weeks ago a message reached the desk of Andrew, telling that Roger Claymore had been shot to dust by a Mandalorian Mercenary in one of the far away Omega systems. Andrew still doesn't believe this rumour, he can't believe that in his eyes, the easy-going, self-confident Roc-master Roger Claymore lost a duel with an ordinary bounty hunter. The important matter is that with his experiences amongst the Rogers' Rocs' have turned him into a daring and passionate independent pirate. (//Feedbackz) |
