We have 4 types of transport turrets and two types of transport shields... Most traders use the best shields and the best turrets, because they are only a bit more expensive... I was thinking how to change that... And I got an interesting idea:

I dont see many traders having capship armor upgrades, simply because they take cargo. What about little balancing in cargo space occupied by shields, turrets and co. ? A heavily armored Adv. train will have less cargo, than for example unarmed Firefly transport... Or things like that...

The same thing using capships:
The better shield you buy, the less cargo you have for guns.
Some super-heavy guns would take so much cargo, that only cheap defense turrets will have to be on the rest of hardpoints...
The better armor you have, the less you have for other things...
And one more idea: Capships would have only some basic energy supply with "energy generators", multiplying the energy supply... I know this has been here before, but if possible, would be nice.

For transports, that are too small and some basic guns would be too much for them...
Idea I got was like this:
A large transport would have lvl x shield.
Smaller transport would have lvl x+1 shield, which would be similar to the shield above, but would need less cargo...
We have LF, HF and freighter shields... Maybe it would be possible to make shields for LFs+HFs+VHFs only the LF shields, for freighters and transports HF shields and for capships freighter shields...

That might turn out quite interesting. Epsecially in the case of capships. Coice: An untouchable, defensive blob or an easily destructable insta-killer?

I'm afraid tis might take much work to put in.
