Piracy roleplaying - angelz - 05-22-2011

Hey!

So I have returned after a while... All ships gone so have to start anew.. Trying to trade a bit with some freighters but money coming slow. And this brought be to a question:

Are there real role playing pirates here?

What I mean by real is people who actually RP and such.. Not only demand 2 mil credits and shoot you when you dont pay.

The thing is I play for fun. RP is fun. And as I am newbie again, trading in cheap things, I will almost never pay 2m when I got 300k cargo with maybe 500k profit. I can go make new character, or go outside, so death is not that bad.

But I would like to RP with some pirates along the way. With probaly some RP demands and such... Like taking the goods to their base... or destroying unwelcome goods.. But all at the end of good RP.

As far as I recall from before.. there were quite a lot of cool pirates..

oh and another question:
Is everyone flying caps now?

yet another topic about this...

Kinda a reason why some pirates act like 'mad' men.

Although this 500k demand of mine isn't always my demand.
Especially not for my hacker and stuff.

And yes there are a lot of brainless folks playing this game.

Keep in mind though,
Your cargo isn't the only valuable thing you carry around.
Your ship, crew, responsibility for them etc.
all that you need to take into account.

There is. But because that type of pirates play for roleplay they are not often online. As those power pirates are taking away all the possible traders away with their actions.

Capital ships? Why do you think there are less traders than caps?.. Traders made their way to it and no longer needs to trade much.

Hmmm tricky question, why don't you start pirating, and show everybody how to do it right.

Just because they don't pirate in the way you want to be pirated (Life would be such easy if even bad things happen in the way we want), it doesn't mean that they are not role playing pirates right. It's just a different point of view.

My suggestion to you would be, try don't get pirated by other players, unless you know they aren't gonna steal money from you.

You are not.

No. Man..... are there real terrorists, who don't kill people just demand stuff on phone ?

You can make a group of fashion pirates.

"Old captain Willy comes before screen in his new orange dress, turns around to captain of the ship they capture" : Now you scallywag, how does this dress look on me ? YOUR OPINION OR DIE !!!!

I still demand toilet papers.

Come say hello to the Liberty Rogues, I like to think we set a good example for piracy.

Most piracy is about money, but why don't you try instigating some roleplay with a pirate other than a run-of-the-mill "taxing"?

The thing is, most pirates see all traders as silent no-RP traders and most traders see all pirates as 2milordie pirates.

Someone has to be the catalyst for roleplay, and if you find you're not recieving it, why not try starting it? Sure there will be some that aren't willing to play along and think they have to "win" every encounter.

But occasionally you'll run into someone who will give you some of the best RP you've had.

In otherwords, you can't just sit around and wait for roleplay to come to you, you've got to go out there and grab it yourself:)

Well, I know they always demand money and such.. But it would be nice to have a bit more to it than just the required RP for not violating rules...

And I will make my own pirate.. when I get money for that..

In Freelances the toilet itself washes your arse. Your demand is PvP abuse.

Then you will be ultimately surprised how hard it can be to actually properly 'talk' / 'stop' / 'demand' something from 80% of all traders.

And no need for more rules, it's still a game.
There will always be a group who do the least to get what they want.
Sadly this group is also the biggest part of the player base.
So adding more 'you need to' things will lead to less players/transports too for that matter.
