Independant Trader ID should allow civillian craft above 3700 cargo - ThePutty - 05-25-2011 I noticed this under the Independant Trader ID and I don't know why this isn't allowed. Civillian class trains like the Stork should be allowed, because after all it's a civillian ship. With my trader I've hauled plenty of cargo and worked up several million, and I should be able to get a civillian ship because of it. There's nothing out of character or roleplay to go against it. If you can build up the credits to afford a 5000 cargo civillian ship, you should be allowed to own it. Anything to go against this? Independant Trader ID should allow civillian craft above 3700 cargo - sadtranslation - 05-25-2011 This limitation exists to encorage people join the factions, use factions' ID and follow factions' role playing guidelines. Independant Trader ID should allow civillian craft above 3700 cargo - Toaster - 05-25-2011 But what if someone wants to RP an independent trader in a big ship? E.g: He and his crew find an abandoned Stork in the Jersey Debris Field and get it fixed up. Edit: That sig is making me laugh everytime I see it, Sad. There are plenty of Ballance and RP reasons behind it. 1- No repnindja on trader ID- non RP and powertade routes possible. 2- When you are independent you cannot afford to buy expensive corporate vessel in RP. 3- If the cargo limit is removed we will see only independent traders on the lines all with storks like ships. 4- No I dont want the Zoner guard Whiles Power Traders back. Alright, my idea wasn't quite thought through, and I knew about these obvious problems (bandit). But, what if you restrict the use of transports above 3800 cargo? Like, not allowing them to dock in House Space when using an IT ID, similar to Zoner Guard IDs. Many people join trader factions before they can afford a ship that's over the indie trader cargo limit. So if I move my corsair guard ID train like mad between tripoli and crete and make twice more then the normal traders the admins should make sure that this is not possible, the same with Harris MacDuff trick and zonezonrrr guard powertraders and many more. ' Wrote:But you can afford to buy a Luxury Yacht with CAU VIII, and that's RP. So why not a stork?Because this greedy greedy corporations wont sell you one since you are independent and their competition or... It is purely trading balance issue not RP one, slapping RP explanation to fit it in the RP server that's all. ' Wrote:Now that's just not true. Many people join trader factions before they can afford a ship that's over the indie trader cargo limit. And what they do 2 months later? They leave because most of the pure trading factions are just boring. There is only credit intensive to be into it for the most of the players, if you dont believe me go to check their activity compared with the other factions. Thats why not so pure trading factions like IMG are good presented on the server, you can do more then trading, I hope that with the new economy system in 4.86 the regulations will be removed as I heard. It will be nice to have bonus for special type of cargo connected with your Ship model and ID too. But for now they are just part of the balance. Independant Trader ID should allow civillian craft above 3700 cargo - Zapp - 05-25-2011 The limit is there because in 4.84 95% of traders had a Trader ID and a 5k transport. A few were well-RP'd, but by and large they were 'abusing' the ID and avoiding RP since it is generic. The limitation on the ID is not an RP one. It is there to balance it out and encourage people to use trader factions, which again boosts pirate and law enforcement activity (it's hard to be LWB/FA without any Synth Foods players, or etc.). Yes, the Trader ID is relatively unused now, but it's easy to imagine that there would be more people working for companies that give them ships to fly than would start up their own business, and then there's taxes on businesses that aren't applied since it's a game etc. etc. that would keep independent traders from amassing fortunes. Independant Trader ID should allow civillian craft above 3700 cargo - ThePutty - 05-25-2011 But again, it's not buffing it up to 5000, it's simply allowing ships marked as Civillian that independant traders can use, much like Smugglers have a pirate train exception, the Independant Trader ID would have an exception of Civilian ships such as the Stork and it's smaller varieties. The fact that it costs a whopping 188 million alone means you have to team up with other people anyway if you want to acquire the ship earlier. So if anything there's more team work going on if people could own this ship without having to conflict themselves to a company, which prevents them from smuggling or doing anything other then mindless trade. Besides, what's the real difference between a trader with a company ID and a massive House 5000 transport and an Independant Trader with a 5000 Stork? Even with a company ID, I've never seen massive trade operations, I only see joint efforts between 2 or more players and that is easily achieved even more so with more freedom for the Independant ID. If a trader is fixated on getting a 5000, it'll happen regardless of what faction he belongs to. It can be argued that the cheap price of the House ships means more will go for those, thus needing to join a company still to operate the House ships (All of which are better than the Stork in armour). If people are still worried, make the Stork cost 200 or 250 million to make even more go for the House ships. |
