I got a random email invite to a game beta and thought I'd try it out as I was bored and between work assignments. I've played it a few days and it's actually pretty fun and not the sort of game I usually play.

Basically, it's a 3D browser run-around-and-shoot-everyone-before-they-shoot-you-first game. You pick a class of fighter, select your weapons and go to combat. As you get kills, you get cash to buy better gear.

Games are eight minutes long and it's free to play as long as you like.

The devs seem like a really nice group of guys and I get the impression they haven't come up with a promotion/advertising strategy so much.

Player counts are mostly in the US (some Europe too) and it would be fun to see more in.

Great way to de-stress for eight minutes.

It's "Ruined" at ruined.com and it plays in your browser via the Unity engine plug-in.

Later!

P.S. No, I get no incentives for the post--just like the game. Tink

I'll check it out.

I've seen a whole bunch of browser games that have been made using the 'Unity' engine and the good ones are awesome.

If you have ever played any sort of first person shooter, it's EXACTLY like that, proper 3D graphics in a flash based window.

To see what I mean, check out this game Sarah's Run .

If you don't already have it, your browser will ask you to install the 'Unity' plugin.

Sarah's Run is apparently just a 'preview', but it does give you a pretty good look at some of the capabilities of the Unity engine.

IF you want a cool game made with the Unity engine then check out Dead Frontier. Zombie apocalypse MMORPG. Quite fun but they're big on giving out "bonuses" to people who donate.
