Good day, gentlemen. I am making this transmission in order to set some things straight.
We have a problem with one of your Zephyr class battleships lurking around our space and openly hunting us on daily basis.
This particular villain is perhaps an outlaw falsely presenting himself as a member of your guild, but we are here to make sure you have no ties with it.

1 2

In the first evidence, you can see him engaging us. In the second, you can see him threatening us with an attack if we choose to extort a corporate punk.
As of what happened today, I will make it short.

Evidence uploaded

We were engaged by a Bretonian patrol in our shared space, Magellan system. The same battleship I was talking about came to us, engaged us, and supplied the Bretonians.
How is this being Independent, gentlemen? I am quite sure you don't want our well established relations to be destroyed by an insane captain of yours.

I will ask no less of you then to banish this ship from your Guild, and to give us a green light to destroy it on sight. We will not respect the Freeport 4 no fire zone when this ship is in question.
Awaiting for your answer.

Largo

Hi There

I am the commander of the Heartbreak_Ridge[D] and I traveled down from Tau23 when I received a report that the IMG Gold Convoy from Dublin had been attacked in Magellan yet again.....

When I arrived all I saw was SW) junkers, Hackers around the Leeds JH and HMS, BAF, BPA) and BH were fighting off various members of SW) and hackers. I surveyed the area only and asked BAF and BPA) where I was required for assistance under the agreed BAF/IMG Treaty between us to defend Magellan bases and areas of influence (the log shows me asking for direction). Though I was directed to kill everybody by BAF, I did not...i'm that callous!

As a selective target I fired on one of the 2 SW) GB carefully missing the trader (Bs can't kill traders..the rules) and then I defended BAF and BPA rear like a wingman hoping this would disrupt to dis-swade attacking fighters just like HMS did, but no real damage was done to any fighter as my IMG Turrets were far too slow.... I therefore left the Hackers to BAF, BPA) and BH and just sat back....

No real issue was caused except my presence in as a Bs Support and Supply Platform which seemed to be objected to....Various text messages was conveniently left off and you only see a small snapshot.

What is very clever is that the photos 1 and 2 are unrelated to todays incident and have been merged and this happened weeks ago.... In that incident (photos 1&2) I politely diswaded the Hacker GB from attacking killing the BMM trader and extorting credits, without a shot as planned.... Again BMM have a licence to trade nubium ore in our space and again observing the Treaty I helped keep trade open and the peace in Magellan..

If Hackers didn't like that then maybe they just see me a an effective pain in the rear end and a hinderance to their profits... If my actions keep the peace and keep the trade lanes open then I think thats a job well done even if they don't.

I would also add I have never Hunted or Bounty Hunted any Hacker. The rewards don't interest me, Its not my job and I have better thing to do as i've already described as we are kept very busy in Tau 23 with the Outcast Raids on us and doing supportive work with =CR= and defending or IMG miners in our fields from rogue Bretonians and outcasts.

I try hard to do a good job thou often it goes unrecognised by IMG/BAF however =CR= have appreciated the support i've given them...

This Hacker have asked for Banishment from IMG and Free Reign to KOS me hence reducing the protective screen I try to assist with in our areas of influence (Its natrual they would try...they have all to gain from this).

IMG HQ If you feel I have done wrong then tell me the what where and how?

If you want to let them KOS me then OK but I will use less restaint than I have shown and become a purely Defensive Platform (when Attacked) which will be more costly to the Hackers when I am forced to use Magellan due to a silly over reaction of one of their members.... I still promote peace as a goal but that depends on the agressor...

Regards
Ravenolle
Commander Heartbreak Ridge[d]

Evening 'gents,
My name is Alan Smith. Before we begin I should tell to the said IMG Commander that this is the last time we tolerate you in hacking our comms. This message was to be read only by the IMG Leadership which as far as I know, you are not part of. There won't be a next time, I can assure you.

Secondly, as IMG Commander mentioned, he was assigned in Tau-23 not in Magellan. I can hardly believe his excuse that his Carrier went from Tau-23 to Magellan for the sole reason of assisting an IMG Convoy. That is clear disobedience as far as I know.

Thirdly, there isn't any BAF/IMG treaty which obliges us to attack the Lane Hackers. The Curacao Treaty establishes a NFZ around Freeport 4 which is completely irrelevant with the current incidents.

Lane Hackers, if the said Commander keeps doing the same things, his vessel will be automatically considered as rogue and you are clear to do anything against it. No need to bother us again.

Commander, I will talk to you in more private frequencies.

I hope I was sufficiently clear,
Alan Smith

Greetings, Gentlemen.

Jack Henderson speaking. The only one here - together with Mr. Largo of course - who has a real interest in Magellan and the Hacker IMG relations because it's Dublin ships which pass it on a daily basis and IMG Dublin pilots that will pay the price of unwise actions, unasked reactions and failed negotiations.

Always see the chance that is offered. In here, it's an opportunity that the Commander of the Heartbreak Ridge is present, so we can quickly clarify things and move on.

Firstly, I'd like to adress Mr. Largo. Thank you for coming to us with this. I am rather sure this can be dealt with fast and efficiently, as we have always managed to clarify mistakes and incidents up to today. I do not see any necessity to make this larger than it is. Your job is dangerous, mine is dangerous. Sometimes things happen, and our commanders fail, sometimes yours fail. That's the way of Sirius. We are in Magellan, not New London. So I sincerely hope that we can clear the issue fast and return to normality.

Secondly, Mr. Smith, I'd like to say to you that Heartbreak Ridge is a valuable ship that - even though it has sometimes been part of conflicts - has rescued many IMG operations and countless miners and traders. You are making a mistake if you see only the negative side. I agree that amendments are necessary. They will be made. Information is necessary, not threats. So I'd ask you to let me do this because I know Magellan, IMG's interest in it, the Hacker's interest, I know most Magellan Lane Hackers and know how issues can be solved and I also know the Commander of the Zephyr.

Commander, this is Jack. We have known each other for some time. I know that you do not like working with people that are not exactly on the shiny white side of the law, yet this is what the IMG does.

It is a fact that the IMG and the Lane Hackers share an interest in Magellan: Freeport 4. We have it. They need it. We cooperate a bit, they leave us alone. That's it.

Commander, I have talked to you after the rather difficult Omega 7 operation in which there had been trouble between you and Red Hessians and other assorted unlawful organisations that supported the IMG. In Magellan, it is very similar: the IMG wants the Lane Hackers to be and stay neutral.

Why? Because not all of us fly invincible ships that are immune to any average unlawful pilot that we encounter. Statistically only every third ship is a fighting ship, the rest are traders loaded with the most precious cargo the IMG has. They will pay the bill of any deterioration of relations, not you.

I am talking to you as the Dublin Mission Controller, since these ships that go through Magellan come from Dublin almost 100 %. If the Hackers are unhappy, if they start acting against us, this will mean losses in the hundreds of millions per week.

Consequently you need to understand that you cannot act against Lane Hackers. Not directly. Not indirectly. Do not assist BAF. Do not assist Liberty Navy. Do not assist traders that are stopped by Hackers. It's none of our business.

We are not the police. Nor the Navy. We are no saints.

We are the IMG and we want to pass our traders through Magellan without worrying about more than the Liberty Rogues, Outcasts and the odd pirate.

You see, Commander: this is not a clear-cut black and white Tau scenario in which Outcast are the enemy and the others are the good.

Everywhere I am assigned to handle things, mostly half of all contacts are illegal or only semi-legal and shadow diplomacy is what needs to be done all the time. Therefore I need you to accept that the IMG and the Lane Hackers are no enemies and will never be enemies and that it's in the best interest of the IMG to keep the neutrality.

Leave the Hackers alone. They are not our business. Also do not help them actively. Just... accept that the IMG and the Lane Hackers have a good reason to be neutral to each other and that we both profit from it. No one can spoil that.

If traders are stopped by the Hackers, you can try to make the conflict end in a non-violent ways. No threats against the Hackers. Try to convince the trader that this is not worth risking their lives or - simply - stay out of it. It's not our job.

Magellan is dangerous. The Hackers are dangerous. It's a trader's choice to choose the route. Their safety is not our responsibility. Not our job to rescue them if they run into their enemies.

This may sound harsh, but this is the reality. This is how it works in a grey world. This is a Magellan reality. Like it or not.

I also attach a document that reminds IMG pilots on how to act in Magellan. Perhaps it can clarify some questions.

I hope this clarifies the Magellan problems.

If you have questions, feel free to ask.

Jack Henderson
Dublin Operations Coordinator

To Mr.Henderson:

Stationing a capital class warship in Magellan without prior request or even notification is an act of hostile aggression under any normal diplomatic standard. Fighters conduct patrols. Capital class vessels are deployed to begin, and end wars. Furthermore I don't want to see this vessel in Magellan ever again while its under captain Ravenolle's command. Failure to avoid Magellan till the end of his career will result in destruction of his ship. That being said we can return to normality, do have a nice day Mr.Henderson.

Hello Mr. Paco Pistols.

As the IMG Guildmaster has already confirmed that you have the permission to engage, etc etc... it's just the Dublin coordinator - me - who wants to only add one more thing:

Just give the Heartbreak Ridge another chance. Change of behaviour needs an explanation first. This was provided by me. If there are more problems, yeah... you already have the Guildmasters license to go forward.

But I'd very much prefer that this is avoided because... you know how things go down: an IMG pilot sees this, engages, allies of IMG engage... and kabooom... a huge dirty bomb went off in our diplomatic efforts. I'd ask you to work with me to avoid this.

Jack Henderson
Dublin Operations Coordinator

Mr.Henderson, I shall not do such. This isn't the first incident involving said captain opening fire on Lane Hacker vessels in order to protect Bretonian lawful or corporate forces. He can return to Magellan only in a ship that is made to conduct patrols and escorts, such as snubcrafts. If you are so fond of your captain in his warship, keep him for yourself in Dublin.
