I think that SHF(super heavy fighter for those thad dont know) is just too big and bulky to be lined up with fighters, it seems to me they named it SHF simply because they had no better name for it, well i think that corvette would be better designation, also one of cruiser types could be renamed frigate.

Edit: But on a more serious note. I think SHF's should replace the bomber class. Give it a bit more energy and a cd slot (for the ones who don't have one already) and voila. Hitting SHF's is a -lot- easier than bombers (most of them).

no that would be frigate as much as i saw in games like Homeworld and Galactic covilizations 2 i would say about 5 crew for corvette and about 30 crew for gunboat.

Actually, I think gunship should be the new name for super heavy fighters, and all the current 'gunships' (which are just light gunboats in Disco) should be renamed to just that, gunboats.

Corvette is heavier and bigger than a gunboat or gunship (in RL too afaik) having a ship class that is smaller than a GB and calling it Corvette is silly imo.

The Rheinland Gunboat is already called "Corvette" in game. Or at least in the German version (Korvette).
So yeah, SHFs should stay SHFs.

Ok point taken, but i still think we can add this two classes between GB and cruiser once cruiser and battleship get a boost, that will make a hole wher we can squeze this two classes.
