Haven't heard of the 1.4 patch, but best if you don't. The mod already has version 1.1 installed, so just reinstall Freelancer, use the mod, and you're good to go.

Discovery fixes some of these bugs and issues anyway.
However that's an self-installing mod, so you might have to delete and reinstall FL.

This "patch" should not be used anywhere for any purposes. It's buggy.
