Silent Syd, as he was called by his crew for his almost paranoid avoidance of systemwide frequencies while anywhere but new york or omicron alpha, looked around the docking bay of Beaumont base nervously, and walked up to one of the loading crew.
"Can't you get these guys to load any faster?"
"We're going as fast as we can, just relax. They'll be in your cargo hold soon enough."
Completely unreassured, he started pacing back and forth across the bay. He'd been a smuggler long enough to know when something was up, he'd changed transponders atleast twice already, and at two million credits per transponder, (off the black market, that is) thats not exactly cheap.
The hold of the ship formerly known as "Transporter", and after that "Barbarian's_Trader" (he'd actually stolen the name from some two-bit xeno or other, a mistake he'd not make again anytime soon) slowly started filling with unmarked grey crates, specially made to resist cargo scans, although he severely doubted their effectiveness.
"Look, if you don't get this thing loaded in 10 minutes, im cutting your pay by half!" he yelled at his loading team in fury, "We've only got a half-hour window to get through Cali before the next patrol!"
This threat seemed to work as intended, for only 2 minutes later they were done.
