My brother was banned without an explanation and we are at a loss as to why. He has two characters, Diputs (a Miner using a Hegemon which he uses to mine Helium in Pennsylvania) and Hephaestus (a Junker using a Combat Service Freighter which he uses to mine Scrap Metal in Texas).
He has just joined the Junker faction with Hephaestus and purchased the Combat Service Freighter. He travelled to Inverness where he purchased mining turrets. It was there that he was banned, and he cannot post on the forums for some reason.
What's going on?

We checked the Sanction area and there is nothing listed for my brother's account. By AV do you mean audio/video? Could you post a link please?

AdAware deletes a critical disco file. Its absence gets you auto-banned.
Use forum search for more details.

He does not use Adaware, only AVG and what is build into Windows 7. He checked, and nothing has been added to quarantine recently. His forum name is Diputs. Laowai, can you check his forum account so he can start posting, I don't like to be the middle man :-)

Yay, I have been validated! On to the matter at hand. I use avg antivirus and the Microsoft malware software. I was playing last night and was disconnected. When I tried to log back in it said to use a different account as the account I was using had been banned. I don't think anyone had messaged me in game (not too sure though). I had just purchased the CSV, Junker ID, and mining lasers on my character Hephaestus and was on my way from Inverness to Texas to mine Scrap Metal. I have logged into other Discovery servers and been able to play no problem, so I'm not sure if it is an issue with that missing file posted above. I would just like to know if I did something wrong/why I was banned.

I always thought AVG messes up Freelancer... which is why I use Microsoft Security Essentials. ( I used Avast! until that apparently started messing it up as well )

I add my entire game directory to the exception list. AVG has problems with most games/mods.
Edit: Also, I'm able to play on other discovery servers without any problems.
