Switching Tags - Matsuda-Shingen - 02-15-2008 Tags GAH! Why have they gotta be so complicated  I'm trying to get my trader a planetform tag but It has an RM tag AFTER I already tried to switch it from LPI. And i'm also trying to get my Fighter a KNF tag when it's KSP. I need to find a quick and efficient way to switch tags without going OORP or that it takes so long that I lose the will to do it in the first place. These are the methods i've been told so far... Method 1 Just carry on doing jobs for the desired faction and evcentually you will get there. Note: This one definatley takes too long Method 2 Get full green for desired faction and make sure that it's second from the bottom. Destroy a few of your'e tag's factions ships until you are Neutral (pointing towards the red) with that faction. Then return to one of your'e desired factions bases and take on a mission, complete the mission, land (preferably on desired factions base), and then launch and your desired faction should be blinking and at the bottom of your known factions list in your personal status menu. Problems with Method 2 1. Method 2 is totally OORP. 2. Your'e a bit screwed if your tagged faction is not exactly the ideal faction to be challenging in a transport. 3. When you attack your'e current tagged faction it doesn't only effect the Rep of that faction, it can (and it does for me) effect the rep of the faction you want to be, and some other faction takes it's place as number 2 in line and essentially then becomes your'e tagged faction. This is what happened when I had LPI but the RM got in under Planetform so now my trader is RM  Method 3 Reboot your character, make a new one, buy a fighter and do some missions... eventually blow up some LPI/Navy ships if you need to, noone must get to full green before your desired faction rep does. Problems with Method 3 1. If you have a ship like a GB+ or a really expensive Transport then it can be an expensive business trying to get all that money back up again to buy it. 2. Killing your'e own ships is still OORP Thanks to Looter for Method 3 So has anybody got any ideas or suggestions on how to change a tag other than this lot? ---^ `Shingen Switching Tags - looter - 02-15-2008 you can get aligned with faction only if you are full green with them. so, you need to tickle everyone who is full green with you, simply land there and enjoy the aborting work. Then abandon your current faction's missions. Method 3: Reboot your character, make a new one, buy a fighter and do some missions... eventually blow up some LPI/Navy ships if you need to, noone must get to full green before your desired faction rep does. Switching Tags - SimonBlack - 02-15-2008 For Planetform tag. Buy Planetform reputation, it should now be highest than any other (if its not, do some mission aborting). Do Planetform missions until its flashy. Buy ID. Quite easy. Listen what I had to do to get Synth Foods tag! First of all. There is only one place to get the bribe and its a small possibility that you'll get it at all. I got it at last. Got back to Liberty. Aborted about 15 police and navy missions each. Went to Stuttgart. Blow up 81 LWB, 13 Red Hessians and 2 Outcasts to get it fully green. Its flashy and heading for ID now.:) Switching Tags - Qunitinius~Verginix - 02-15-2008 Land on the faction base that you have the tag for and want to get rid of, and accept missions then abort them right away. Lowers the rep for that faction only. Verg Switching Tags - Matsuda-Shingen - 02-15-2008 Bummer it took so long man. You must have spent quite a while on it. By the way i've pretty much get the Planetform rep in the bag it's just a case of making it blinky :D Edit: Thanks for the info Verg, that's helped alot. Switching Tags - ian - 02-15-2008 yeah i so wish there was a way to get the admins do it via an expensive in-game certificate (like the name change) or anything to get them to help but there isnt:( i haev been trying to fix my tag for 3 weeks now day and some nights and i am nowhere close >.< i have tried method 2 and im sitll trying it (that is what taken the 3 weeks mostly) and i am just starting to attack any NPC factions that is green to me unless it is IMG that way i can not only reduce that factions rep but its allies who are also green for me i dont think method 1 works at all :\ and i do not want to try method 3 getting my BC was hard enough (im not much of a trader) as it is nevermind selling it for a smaller ship to get my tag fixed plus i do not want to restart my character just to get the tag im more-or-less in teh same boat as Matsuda Switching Tags - Juan_Arquero - 02-16-2008 Obviously, you guys haven't used the search function, because there are many threads on the subject of how to fix your reputation. The best known such thread is Reputation Bugged? Read here, Another one of DBoy's tutorials that has a link in the New to Discovery? Welcome!, Guide-Post, important links you should know... thread that is pinned at the top of the Welcome! forum. Switching Tags - SimonBlack - 02-16-2008 I would have never thought that people have such a problem with reputations... Welcome!, Guide-Post, important links you should know... thread that is pinned at the top of the Welcome! forum. i already knew about that thread from my help request post. i think this thread is more of finding out what works best for fixing your rep and suggesting more and different ways of doing it though Switching Tags - ian - 02-16-2008 i got my tag tonight! ^_^ atlast after 4 weks of trying hehe what i did was start shooting at all and every NPC faction that was green to me and because when you fire on the faction it also reduces their allies down aswell which makes it quicker and within the last couple of days i had them all but 6 on white when i gone to try a double bribe with IMG, i done it BUT i wasnt tagged by IMG as it was blank so i 2 missions and pop i am officially tagged by my rightfully faction now ^_^ so if you want to quickly get the reps down, start shooting but this will be ooRP and all the lawfuls in that system will open fire on you |
