___________ 1. Basic Guide Lines
[color=#3366FF].- There will be no 'raiding'
We are not able to fully take on the BAF our self, at least not yet. So there will be no ensuing of mass murder and carnage because of our actions. Every Bretonian is a potential follower who just doesn't know it yet. And if he shouldn't agree with us down the road, we can still kill him later on.
For now, we concentrate on cargo piracy and the power of words.
.
- THERE IS NO CORRUPTION!
Well, there may be but we don't care the slightest! So please spare us that crap. there is no corruption to talk about.
.
- The system serves its self and not the people!
This, in its many variations, will be your punch line. There is a walk-through with possible inRP arguments in this post that you will have to read in order to be able to get the message across correctly.
Your char was at some point a politician - he knows all this. And so must you!
.
- Mind your tone!
Of course, this very much depends on the situation and your character. But generally, the chaps from PPB are of a more sarcastic and teasing nature, and try to put the failures of their foes in allusions and snappy punch lines. They can't help it. They were politicians only two years ago. And since they are sad about not being politicians anymore, they also tend to be a little cynical.
But as I said, it very much depends on what char you feel like playing.
.
___________ 2. How to treat whom
[color=#3366FF].- 2.1 Kill those! (RM, KNF)
Within Bretonia, there is only one bunch of people that we don't bother to engage in a conversation before wiping the floor with them: Invaders. Rheinlanders & Kusarinese.
We have no desire to convince them of anything. They are here on standing orders and the only thing we are interested in is getting them killed. Either by luring them into their enemies - BAF serve as fabulous tool for this time and again - or by closing their coffins our self.
.
- 2.2 Open their eyes! (QCP, BAF, BPA)
The second group consists of servants of the crown.
'tis quite important that you convince them that they are in fact serving under a broken system that serves its self rather than the broad populous. If they disagree with your point of view, which all human beings are entitled to, you can still kill them.
.
- 2.3 Lets show them how to share. (BMM, Bowex, Planetform, Gateway)
These unfortunate individuals are our basic source of income.
YOU are a CARGO PIRATE, one that either helms a pirate train or flies right next to one. Take their cargo, but never more than half of it. After all, they're at the end of the corporate food chain and we don't want those poor lads to get fired.
You can of course feel free to give them a speech. But really, all they will care about is either getting away from you or being terribly angry at you. Only apply amounts of sugar coating that are proportional to the situation.
If you don't have any cargo vessel with you, you can feel free to CD them and have a little chat with them about how cruel this whole situation is. And how unfair the current Bretonian system is. And that your cat died while choking on Tearloch's cockatoo.
Its best to start a conversation on common ground, though. Tax is a very good topic to achieve this.
Once you got a greedy trader raging about tax rates, you can wrap him around your little finger and have him eat all the mental beans you feed him! Ha-Ha.
However, if they act all wise and tell you that they are the important CEO this-and-that, demand all their cargo anyway!
.
- 2.4 Take everything from those guys too!
Juicy foreign traders. You got to love those! Milk 'em like the others, but don't waste your breath on those.
.
- 2.5 The nice guys. (Mollies, IMG, Hessians)
They kinda share our views on things and we kinda think that they are cool. Do not shoot them! Not ever! And don't help them to shoot each other, too!
Of course, occasional banter with these folks, especially about the Queen's insufferable haircut, beverages and especially tea, is inevitable.
They also reinforces our strong opinion about us generally being totally right about everything.
We also try to prove our self as valuable allies to them by basically shooting what they are currently busy shooting and running from what they are running from. We are quite social that way. However, that doesn't extend to the Gaians.
.
- 2.6 Those weird other guys (Junkers, Corsairs, Gaians, Outcasts)
Junkers: Don't shoot those until they try to scam you! If they do, you can rightfully say that it was their fault and generally appear as the better person. Also, the Jerrys at the eastern Volksfront have kinda important deals with them. So having some "he did it first" and "no you!" evidence always comes in handy.
You could of course try to win a Junker for our cause. But really. Who gives a damn about a Junker's opinion.
Corsairs: Well, to be frank, we do shoot these guys. A lot. The Hessians regularly call for our help in the omegas just so they can pop them more easily. However, they are such a huge bunch that most of them don't even know who we are - even though we may have killed twelve of their cousins yesterday.
So, when you see them in Bretonia, act like nothing happened. Be casual. Don't make any sudden moves. Things will be dandy.
If they want your lane, move on. No reason to get violent over some trader. Some juicy trader. Some juicy trader with lots of cargo ... hm ... cargo. Actually forget what I just said. If they want your lane, kill them!
Also, if you see them harassing some mollies or miners, kill them, too!
Gaians: We have absolutely no idea what these guys are on to. I mean sure, they blow up people so they can save like ... bugs? Or something?
Them blowing up things is kind of naughty. But there might still be some valuable business opportunities awaiting us. So don't mess with them!
Outcasts: They are kinda like corsairs. The difference is that no one asks us to shoot them. But we ain't dimwits! We know about their terrible drug trade.
Ignore those unless they mess with your lane or try to sell drugs to some poor fella that should rather join us than die from an overdose.
.
- 2.7 The common worker
Those mounting a Trader ID or Miner ID are the poor little workers on who's back the entirety of Sirius is built on. Show some compassion. Give them some coin. Show them that we really are on their side after all. And since you're on it, you might as well explain them the advantages of flying within the VF.
.
___________ 3. RP Argumentation
[color=#3366FF].- 3.1 Presuppositions
Your character was at one point a politician. He knows about the political system in Bretonia and what, at least in his eyes, the weak spots are. He also knows why his party was banned and thus the Story of the PPB.
If and how your character uses this knowledge is, in the end, up to you of course. However, it must be there.
- 3.2 Relevant aspects of the political system
- The people elect party representatives into the house of commons.
- The house of commons is the legislative body. It proposes bills.
- The house of lords either passes them or denies these bills.
- The house of lords consists of the lords (duh!)
- A lord may only receive his peerage from the Crown
- 3.3 The resulting problems (and our arguments)
- The Crown can indirectly control which laws pass and which don't by handing peerage to supportive lords to-be.
- The Crown and the Lords are not elected by the people. Yet, they can stop any bill from passing if it shouldn't fit their needs.
- Once the royalist pigs mange to rally a majority (by what ever means) in the house of commons, the entire legislative is basically controlled by the Crown. The Crown that no one elected.
- The Crown is always a greedy bitch that wants to exploit people in order to become more powerful. We are fairly certain of this.
- 3.4 PPB dependent arguments
- We were banned because only a hand full of our followers became a bit violent. However, we all know that PPB was in fact banned in an effort to keep the industry on highest possible efficiency.
By exploiting our voters.
- The common workers who have to work double shifts without proper compensation, some already waiting for the payment of their wager for months even.
- Worker protests are being cracked down by the police (most because they are violent, but no one has to know)
- And all that because of the warmongering, power hungry and greedy crown that functions as the puppet master in the current system.
- yadayadayada. And so on.
- 3.5 Our goals in Bretonia
Officially:- We want a system that is just to the common people. One where all powers, Executive, Legislative and Judicative are, in one way or another, controlled by the people. And not by a blood line that follows only its own agenda.
- Democracy and freedom should be what sets Bretonia apart from any other Sirian House. That is what we stand for.
- How can all Bretonians be free when those who oppose the crown will be charged with treason, even though they acted in the best interests of the Bretonian citizens (like us, hint, hint). We must be a legal party again!
Unofficially:- And what's with that free market crap anyway? All it does is forcing people into exploiting their employees in order to get more cash. In fact the empire should control the economy in order to prevent this.
- Seeing the Queen dead and the royalists in jail would be really nice. It's heart warming for us to just think abou it. :ylove:
.
___________ 3. How to ride in style
[color=#3366FF].- By now you should know that even though our main guns, the lugers, are among the weakest in Sirius, we still have access to other, very impressive gear. Natterns, Vampires, Sabres, Odins, Lokis, Eagles and so on.
Now the question is, how do I really ride in style when flying through Bretonia. And well, there are several answers to this:
- This season's Cargo Pirate
This Season's Cargo Pirate enjoys to be flexible and to ride light. The Bactrian is his No. 1 choice. It is among the strongest freighters the game has to offer. It's available right around the corner at the barrier gate station and it looks pretty neat and comfy.
This Seasons' Cargo Pirate also enjoys a retro look with a whole bunch of Luger turrets mounted and the occasional, functional class 9 deb in the front mounts.
- Today's Support Fighter
Today's Support Fighter doesn't only want to appear supportive but quite independent, too. That's why he goes with the timeless sabre most of the time. He refrains from using the Odins because they are simply too far off. And enjoys slow firing guns like vampires and Lugers the most. Since this Season's Cargo Pirate always has a CD, Today's Support Fighter likes to deliver an extra punch with a Minirazor mounted.
The more social Support Fighter's, however, that enjoy company and thus group-fights, tend to go with the Hessian Natterns. High re-fire rate and extraordinary speed, make this gun especially good looking in long dogfights.

SCRA isn't a bretonian constant. Its basically just a raid faction and it isn't based here.
Right now, the only reason that we aren't hostile to SCRA is them being supported by the Hessians. Our Members are aware of this.

Fair do's. I've had little contact with you guys so far so look forward to the RP that'll happen:)
Bretonian VF RP 101 - TheJarl - 07-08-2011
The only friendly contact we have with the Coalition is a trade deal with Volgograd Industries in fact. And that is 'just business'.
