**INCOM** ID: Sir Jack Fraser, Duke of Norfolk HMS-DAGOBAZ ********** This is a DIRECT order for you to explain your actions. You are accused of Piracy against Bretonian trading vessels inside of Bretonia. This is in direct violation of your letter of Marque. I am Sir Jack Fraser, Duke of Norfolk, Acting Fleet Admiral of the Bretonian Armed Forces, and Lord Privateer of Her Majesty's Most Diligent Interdiction Wing. I am the man who wrote your letter of Marque, and I know full well that it forbids the engagement of Bretonian vessels and trade anywhere. You have 24 hours to respond to this accusation, failing to do so will result in you being EXILED from Bretonia as a common Pirate, hunted by the BAF and BPA alike, and brought to stand before the Queen to explain your actions. Evidence AM I CLEAR? So I decided to tax him as they are not bretonians he refused so I fired on him, then he docked on southampton shipyard then later a KUSARI Explorer GB of the same company came by but this one had a Freelancer ID clearly he was looking for trouble as well so I demanded he drop the Ore he was carrying which he refused so I opened fire on him too. These people are not bretonians if they proceed to fly Kusari Ships as im aware we are at War with kusari this company must have sympathys for the enemy and are thus Fair Game to be taxed and/or destroyed. Cpt. of HMS.Jackal out! Let me clear up some very interesting points brought up by the HMS Jackal, which, now seem to shed some light on the misunderstanding. Our company, Sea Spirit Trading, is also a Leasing company. In essence, we provide funds and ships for independent captains, who have received ship operators licenses from separate companies. In our fleet, you will find several different classifications of vessels, and bearing shipping licenses from many different sources. Skipper Roy Carter received his freight hauling license from Interspace Commerce, and is under lease to haul only items for Sea Spirit Trading. In our fleet, you will find both ship captains and mining vessel operators who have received licenses from IMG, BMM, even Freelancers, and, before the war, Kruger - once, Rheinland was our biggest trade partner, and we had offices on New Berlin - those offices have since been closed, and individuals with us from Rheinland have been released from their lease agreements, and their ships returned to our shipyard. Our employee's may be from diverse and varied backgrounds - for a time, one of our employee's was a Kusari immigrant to Liberty who married a Libertonian, and i considered a damn fine transport pilot. However, the heart of our corporation has been, IS, and will be, Bretonian. As for the issue of the Kusari made Gunboat - I don't see it as really being an issue. It was procured via a third party, through Liberty, and the funds for it never made it to Kusari. As well, it being a civilian gunboat, I have personally seen the ship in the hands of so many varied individuals, from freelancer space explorers, to mercenaries, and even pirates. We currently have two for our operation security, as our company has become targets of various unlawful groups. I do hope this clears up any issues. Thank you for your time. Signed - David Rhodes Executive Vice President Sea Spirit Trading & Leasing To 13th|HMS-Jackal - arvg - 07-16-2011 ********** **INCOM** ID: Sir Jack Fraser, Duke of Norfolk HMS-DAGOBAZ ********** Either you are Bretonian, or you are not. Our laws only apply to vessels clearly marked as Bretonian with Bretonian papers. However much I think "taxing" a Libertonian papered vessel in Bretonia in these times of troubles is wrong, the Captain of the Jackal is right, he was acting within his purview as defined by his letter of Marque. All I can do is issue a stout warning against him, and urge the BPA and BAF to keep a closer watch. I would advise you, that if your ships wish Bretonian protection, which we will gladly afford, that they MUST carry the appropriate BRETONIAN papers. Piracy inside of Bretonia by anyone is something we will not abide, however you can see here why the Jackal's Captain was... mistaken. I wish a speedy restoration of your House affiliation, and wish you the best. Her Majesty's Most Diligent Interdiction Wing Bretonian Armed Forces. **ENDCOM** *********** ADDENDUM: It should be noted that I am severely troubled by this incident. And I am requesting that the Bretonian Government pass a law making it illegal for any piracy to occour against Bretonian and Allied shipping inside of Bretonia. To 13th|HMS-Jackal - Nick.Walker - 07-16-2011 "Either you are Bretonian, or you are not." This my good Duke, I agree wholeheartedly. I was born on Houston, raised there until I was in my mid-teens. Father was Libertonian, and my mother a Bretonian from Cambridge. When my father was killed in combat, we moved back to Bretonia. I may speek with a Texan accent, I may wear a cowboy hat and boots, but Bretonia is in my blood and I am a Bretonian by that blood and by emigration. To wit, I cannot disagree with your statement. As to Sea Spirit, it began small as an eclectic small group of ships and independent miners, and has grown to an international corporation. Our headquarters is, and has always been, on Leeds. Just as centuries ago in the Sol system, an international corporation's headquarters defined the nature of its existence, the same goes for our company. I believe what Mr. Rhodes was trying to say was that while we have fine employees from all walks of life, we are a Bretonian company. It is true we are not BMM and we are not Bowex. It is also true that at this time the systems cannot be updated to show a separate Sea Spirit identification. Our transponder tags on all company ships do clearly state a Sea Spirit identification by use of the "Sea}{" naming convention. Additionally, as you are surely well aware, Interspace is an insurance company as well as one of transportation. It is common knowledge and practice that without the IC in the naming convention, the ship is clearly not a part of the Interspace fleet. Until such time as a separate Sea Spirit identification can be updated to the universal systems, we are stuck with Freelancer IFF transponder readings. The usage of the Sea}{ naming convention is our company identification. Simply because a computer glitch prevents the requisite ID, does not indicate we are not a Bretonian company. Why just this past week, when Corsair capital ships invaded the Leeds system, one of our employees, in the process of acquiring citizenship here, engaged the first arriving battleship with his Mafic. He remains hospitalized on Cambridge from the injuries he received. I state this to show, beyond doubt, that our company and our employees are loyal to the Crown. While some of us may have originated elsewhere, we are Bretonian, and give our service to the Queen. I do hope that this helps clear the matter. Thank you for your time. John T. Rourke CEO/President Sea Spirit Trading & Leasing Addendum: I appreciate your concern on this matter. It has come to my attention that this very same ship has fired on IMG ships both in Omega 7 as well as within Cambridge. While I appreciate the need for the Privateers, it does not help our war efforts to engage ships bring much needed supplies *into* our domain. One would think they woudl be performing predation on the the enemy shipping outside of Bretonia. Again, your concern and dilligence in this matter is greatly appreciated and noted. |
