To: Gallic office of Border affairs, From: Jack Denton - Zeppy - 07-29-2011 Greetings I was recently given permission to enter Gallia to preform research into the Privas planetary cluster. As you can see, the results were very interesting and usefull. Attached file: {!} I am contacting you for two reasons, firstly, as per the terms of my entrance into Gallia I am sending you the codes to the probes that are deep inside each of the planets in the Privas cluster. With the codes you should be able to reactivate the probes and acquire detailed scans of the Daam K'Vosh devices. ---File Upload Detected---
---scanning for malicious software...... scan complete--- ---Commencing Download...... Download Complete--- 02756782984628947163991763 ---Signal Lost--- Simply upload that code to the probes to reactivate them, they can be controlled via standard long range neural-net uplink. My second reason for contacting you is to request permission to remove something from the Privas Cluster for analysis. Inside each DGM is a set of twenty crystals that act as a backup power supply, I estimate that if the DGM's main power supply was disabled the backup would last about 24-30 hours. These crystals act as a sort of battery, the amount of power they can store however is absolutely gigantic, far in excess of even our largest energy storage arrays. If these crystals could be replicated it would be a massive step forward in technology for the human race. Therefore I would like to ask permission to remove two of these crystals, one each from two seperate DGMs, for study and testing. Rest assured that the removal of one crystal will in no way affect the operation of the DGMs, the crystals work independently of eachother so removing one will not break the circuit. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask, I am only to happy to provoid you with any information that I may have missed. Jack Denton To: Gallic office of Border affairs, From: Jack Denton - Alley - 08-07-2011 Bonjour Monsieur Denton. I'm surprised the Border Affairs did not reply to you yet. For some reason this ended up in my mailbox and I'm far from being a science person, so I handed a copy to Solar Engineering. They're extremely interested in your research and asked me to unlock a fund to support your research. From what I understood, Solar Engineering classed the Privas Cluster as Category A1 natural danger. In sirian terms, to put it simply, A1 means : Don't touch it, really. Apparently, according to Solar Engineering, the Privas Cluster is subject to severe gravitational instability if the gravitational fields would come to be disturbed, this is why, if you decide to do anything, I will ask you to be extremely careful. This means you have my approval. I would also like to know what is that disagreement with Ageira, it is always good to know potential enemies and perhaps we can help. Sincerely, Alice DeFrance. To: Gallic office of Border affairs, From: Jack Denton - Zeppy - 08-07-2011 Greetings Ms DeFrance, it is an honor My thanks for the green light to retrieve the crystals, and rest assured that I will be careful not to disturb the cluster's delicate gravitational balance. I plan to simply use one of the probes already on the planets of the cluster to retrieve the crystal and then fire it out of the planet's atmosphere where it will be retrieved via tractor beam. This is a very crude way of describing the process, there are a multitude of steps to execute but that is the plan in essence. As to Ageira, well that's a long story, I will do my best to condense it however. As stipulated in my terms of entrance into Gallia I am to share the results of my research in Gallia with Gallia for free. I am allowed however to share non-military research with Sirius. Therefore I approached Ageira with the research, they agreed to the price of 200-million Sirius credits. I met the Ageira representative to conduct the deal but was cheated by the representative. I hastily changed the codes of the Privas probes to try and mitigate the damage but they still have several pages of research notes and some schematics. As you could imagine I was quite annoyed with Ageira, they appear to be annoyed with me as well because they have taken... shall we say aggressive... measures to silence my protests at their treachery. Fortunately I have been offered refuge outside of Ageira's reach by a group who will remain anonymous for obvious security reasons. Not that I think you untrustworthy of course, I'm just being cautious, better safe then sorry and all that, even the toughest encryption can be hacked. Jack Denton To: Gallic office of Border affairs, From: Jack Denton - Alley - 08-07-2011 Rebonjour Monsieur Denton. Merci for your informations related to Ageira Technologies, be sure that such treachery is severely punished by Gallic Laws and as per your permit, you are considered a Gallic Partner, thus subject to Gallic Law. Therefore, as Ageira Technologies commited a sin against you, they are as well subject to Gallic Law and Ageira Technologies will face a trial in front of the Gallic Royal Court of the Borderworlds. I have deposited a request to the Gallic Royal Court of the Borderworlds to take care of this matter. A notification of incoming trial should be sent to Ageira Technologies and the Liberty Government in the coming days. If you need anything, just ask. Sincerely, Alice DeFrance. To: Gallic office of Border affairs, From: Jack Denton - Zeppy - 08-07-2011 Greetings again Well, I must say  this is something I didn't expect. My thanks again for your help. I meant to send this earlier but at the time I was busy negotiating the deal with Ageira, after that I was dealing with the aftermath. Anyway, this is the result of research into the Daam K'Vosh gravitational manipulator technology found in the Privas Cluster. Essentially it is an expendable device used to create Jump Holes, the Jump Hole can be programmed to exit literally anywhere so long as the coordinated of the exit Jump Hole are known. ---Commencing Upload---
Design documents for the Denton artifical Jump Hole Creator (JHC) Operation: The Denton artificial Jump Hole Creator (JHC) is based on Daam K’Vosh gravitational manipulation technology. When programed with the destination coordinates and activated, the JHC’s onboard optronics will calculate the various gravitational manipulations it must make to the immidiate area before starting a one minute countdown. All ships must move at least five kilometres away from the JHC before this countdown reaches zero. When the countdown reaches zero the JHC will activate and create a Jump Hole before been utterly destroyed by gravitational fluctuations, anything close to the JHC will be instantaneously obliterated, all this will happen within the space of approximatly two seconds. The JHC will attempt to contain the fluctuations but it will be destroyed before it can contain them completely, for this reason ships may be knocked around slightly even at a “safe” distance. Â It is important that one understands the limitations of the JHC. The JHC cannot open a Jump Hole to absolutly anywhere, there must be a destination Jump Hole. The destination Jump Hole can be a naturaly occuring Jump Hole or another Jump Hole created by a JHC. Also Jump Holes created by the JHC have a very short life span when compared to the naturally occuring Jump Holes, depending on local conditions and proxmity to large gravity wells, JHC created Jump Holes can last from four to ten minutes. Included in this document is a program for upload into your ship’s computers that will reliably calculate the longevity of a Jump Hole at the JHC’s current location. It is possible (in theory) to supply so much power to the JHC that it could protect itself from the gravitational fluctuations and keep a Jump Hole open permanetly (in this case the JHC would stay trapped in the centre of the Jump Hole but would not pass through the event horizon as it would be held in place by its own gravitational field). However unless the energy source is renewable the powe supply would eventually run out and the Jump Hole would begin to collapse. Dangers: This is not a Jump Drive, fitting a JHC to a ship is extremly dangerous, JHCs are expendable devices designed to be dropped into space and then activated remotly. Before activation the device must be programed with the coordinates of the point that one wishes to jump too. Failure to program a destination will result in a Jump Hole with a random exit point or possibly no exit point, entering such a Jump Hole will trap the vessel inside untill after several hours the radiation kills the crew and eventually disintergrates the ship. Upon activation anything close to the JHC will be ripped apart and pulled in by the gravitational pull of the newly formed Jump Hole this “shrapnel” will pass through the Jump Hole and come out the destination Jump Hole, if a ship is in the way of the “shrapnel” it will most likely be badly damaged or even destroyed. One does not need to worry about this happening to a ship though, this only happens because the Jump Hole is not stable when first created and the gravitational pull is much stronger. These gravitational fluctuations will have ceased by the time a ship can reach the Jump Hole if traveling from the five-kilometer safe zone. Please note also that is a physical immposibility to have two Jump Holes within 15 kilomitres of each other. The gravitational disturbances caused by them so close together will affect their exit points, as the exit points randomly change the stability of the Jump Holes degrades untill one or both of them have been disstabilised to the point where they dissapitate. For this reason be wary of using a JHC near another Jump Hole. Schematics: The rest of this document contains all the schematics needed to build your own JHCs. The materials required for one JHC are: One (modular) Nuclear Device Approximately 10 standard units worth of ship hull panels 12 standard units of Super conductors 16 standard units of Optronics (programs included) One Quantum Multiplexor Step1 Step2 Step3 Step4 Step5 Top View Front View ---Upload Complete---
Once again apologies for the delay. Jack Denton To: Gallic office of Border affairs, From: Jack Denton - Alley - 08-07-2011 Monsieur Denton. The Gallic Royal Court of the Borderworlds would like to have more details about the treachery of Ageira Technologies in order to prepare their transmission, please provide every information possible, especially names. Sincerely, Alice DeFrance. |
