[color=#FFFFFF]Yeah just got around playing and so far it's one of the most confusing games I've ever played but it's so damned beautiful that I am determined to find my around. I am currently stuck at a mission where I have to follow a pirate to his where his buddies launch and totally pwn me, so if anyone here played it can you please tell what to do? It says scan the base but how the heck do I do that before I get pulverized.

If I remember correctly, you have to fly near point blank range to the base. Then, a counter should pop up which says "scanning 5%...10%... etc". The tough part is to stay near the base AND dodge the enemy fire.

My best advice would be to spend heaps of time building a trade empire so you can kit yourself out, before attempting the story missions very far.

If it's the Terran mission I'm thinking it is, grab the M5(Light Fighter) ship you were given, max out its engines, and lure most of the enemies onto lasertowers of the other nearby pirate base.
Or at the very least just lure them away from the base so you can have at least a minute of time next to the base.

The Xenon Ns are the things you have to watch, as they're the fastest of the lot, assuming you get the same mob of ships I got.

And as a note on massing up stuff, do note that missions will scale. If you go into one with an M1 or M2(Carrier or destroyer respectively), prepare to face massive waves of fighters.

I loved this game back when I used to play it. Never really got too far into it, but the highlight was when I managed to cripple a Xenon Fighter and I was able to fly it around doing some of the Terran stuff.

I'm actually really looking forward to X-Rebirth, from what little I've seen, it looks like it's going to be awesome.
