What we are says little,
does less,
means nothing.
Kallisti.

Let me introduce myself. I'm Mord of the 'Dancing star' cabal.
We started it without messing around with the Polyfather.

We gathered considerable funds around a year ago to build our new home, as Baffin doesn't suit our needs.
One year our home is under construction. It's almost operational.

It was built on the Jinkusu design.
Its particularity? It won't possess any offensive capability.

There we go...
I'm bothering you today because we have a rather unusual request to ask to Liberty.

We would like to be granted free passage in Liberty sovereign space :
- We wouldn't Loiter in your space more than a week.
- We wouldn't help any criminals while in Liberty space.
- We are well aware you are at war with Rheinland. We wouldn't help any side nor give intel about what we see in Liberty.
- We would contact an officer of the primary fleet if possible when we're about to enter in Liberty's space, to inform the high command of our presence.

I hope you will agree we will hardly be a menace, as our vessel will be unarmed.
We would like to be able to visit Sirius to allow our popes to consult their pineals in singular places.

The callsign of our new home will be [TAZ]Golden.Apple.Corps.

I'm humbly waiting your answer regarding that request.

Keep the Sacred Chao spinnin'. Hail Eris!

First of all, I didn't catch the name and your title doesn't exactly roll off the tongue easily, so I'll just skip that part.

The short answer to your question is no.

The longer answer is this:

Quote:- We wouldn't help any criminals while in Liberty space.
- We are well aware you are at war with Rheinland. We wouldn't help any side nor give intel about what we see in Liberty.

These aren't things that you need to point out. That you felt the need to point out what is essentially an expectation of anyone staying in Liberty doesn't really inspire confidence in what you imply you're doing most of the time.

Speculation aside though, the law is what it is and has been written for a reason. That reason is the protection of both civilians and forces personnel on duty. If you wish to traverse Liberty, you will have to obtain approval from a Primary Fleet officer on duty. If none are available, that's tough and you'll have to wait.

Even without weaponry, the mass of such a vessel makes it very dangerous, and no amount of assurances can prevent some pretty terrible things from occurring out of your, or our, control. There's no need for the people of this house to take such a risk allowing your ship the freedom you desire. If you wish to visit Liberty, you're free to do so flying a gunboat-class or lower ship and you wont be hindered in doing so. Otherwise, you will have to adhere to the law as it is currently written.

Your request is not an unusual one. We get many variants of such requests, each and every one of them denied.

Kallisti, dear Commodore Robinson.

Please, Mord will suffice.

We felt the need to point we wouldn't provide Rheinland with intel nor help criminals inside your space to show our good will on that matter.
I remember TAZ was banned from Liberty some times ago. This partly explain your suspicions i believe.

We wanted to have this written in the agreement to avoid any ambiguity.

The cabal would have enjoyed to use a vessel having a lighter tonnage. But we are more than 2355 people.
They could never fit in a gunboat class vessel, for instance.

We hoped you would consider our vessel as a colony, not a warship. The lack of offensive means was in our eyes enough to grant this.

As your decision seems to be final and you do not wish to negotiate this further, i will then try to not waste your precious time even more, Commodore.

Please accept my thanks for the time you put to consider this request.

23 Skidoo.

Golden Apple Corps;

I am thankful that you accept our decision. Despite your nature as a colony ship, I'm sure you could understand if we were to say that we've "heard it all before" and in some instances, paid the price for our good faith. That's why such a law was introduced, and that's why it hasn't changed.

There have been many such largely proportioned and heavily armed colony ships before. Many Zoner, and one I remember having declared a no-fire-zone around his ship when at West Point. Of course that was dealt with in short order, and not associated with you. However, the zero-tolerance policy we have ensures that there is absolutely no ambiguity on the issue of capital ships in Liberty space.

Thankyou for your understanding.
