Gallic Rumor Writers Wanted - Xoria - 08-28-2011 Preparations have been underway for several weeks to begin writing rumors for the new Gallic base NPCs. Preparations are continuing, but the point has been reached where we can begin actively writing rumors. If you have experience roleplaying in Gallia, you are especially encouraged to participate in the rumor creation process. You may participate even if you think that your writing ability is inadequate. The major task of creating rumors is not the writing, but is coming up with ideas to write about. If you are interested in writing rumors for Gallic factions, please apply in this thread, by providing the following information: 1) The extent of your experience or knowledge of Gallia. 2) Whether you can write rumors, or just supply ideas for rumors. 3) Name the Gallic factions you are most comfortable with supplying rumors for. 4) Describe how much you are able to contribute: just a few ideas or rumors, up to writing dozens of rumors over the next few months. My estimate is that we will require somewhere between 1,000 to 1,500 new rumors for Gallia, so there is plenty to do for anyone who wants to contribute. It is important to point out that you may be ideal for this project even if you do not have any experience in Gallia. General rumors for police, navy, corporate, and pirate factions are similar to those in Sirius since the experience of being police, for example, is the same in many ways across countries. If you can write rumors for a Sirius faction, then you could probably write rumors for a similar Gallic faction. If you would like to become heavily involved in writing rumors for Gallia over the next few weeks or months, then in addition to posting in this thread, write 3 new rumors for the Gallic faction of your choice and then send them to me in a PM for evaluation. Rumors should ideally be between 3 and 5 sentences in length, but could be a little longer or shorter, depending on content. Ideas that need more space to be expressed can be split into several back to back rumors. If you are already involved in reviewing or writing rumors for Sirius and have been in contact with me, and you wish to switch to working on Gallia, first finish your current project, then send me a PM to let me know. Gallic Rumor Writers Wanted - Daedric - 08-29-2011 Alright. I'm working on updating the Gallic Border Worlds rumors. I'm going to have some of you help me out so that we can see what you can do. Pancakes: Send me 6 rumors for the bases that were formerly Council and are GRN in 4.86. Maximus: Send me 6 rumors from an Outcast that are Gallia related. Pilgrim: Send me 6 rumors for the Union Corse. Shagohad: Send me 6 rumors for the Royal Navy. Mao: Send me 6 rumors for the Brigands. General Guidelines ~Do not write rumors that are time sensative. Saying something happened "recently" or "last year" will make the rumor out of date in future updates. This means, we'll have to update it at that time, keeping track of time sensative rumors is a headache and something we don't want to do. ~Rumors tend to be 3 to 5 sentences long. If you wish to write a rumor that is longer, split it up into multiple rumors. ~Do not write any rumor regarding trade. ~Generally writing a rumor that describes the function of a base, the function of the NPC saying the rumor, about the history of the faction or base, and interfaction relationships are a good idea. Typically, you will not be writing rumors that are specific to a base, but if you want to for this, be sure to note which base you are writing the rumor for. Same for a NPC, tell me which base you envision him to be on. No more than one rumor out of the 6 I asked for are to be specific to a base/NPC. We're seeking general rumor writers. ~Read the current in game rumors for the factions that are assigned to get an idea of what is required. ~Do not use the ; symbol at all. If you refer to a jump gate by name, for example the California Jump Gate, capitalize the words jump gate. If you do not refer to it by name, do not capitalize them. Same with jump holes. ~ALL submissions need to be sent via forum PM to me (Daedric). Gallic Rumor Writers Wanted - Daedric - 08-30-2011 Don't be afraid! We could still use more creative minds! Gallic Rumor Writers Wanted - Irwin - 08-30-2011 1) I enjoy reading, so I've read the wiki pages for each Gallic faction, and the Gallic one itself. I've also played in Gallia for a decent amount of time. 2) I'd think both. I've got a few ideas now, and I feel I can turn them into rumors. 3) Gallic Royal Police 4) I don't think I'd be able to write a significant amount of rumors. But I'd try to atleast write a couple rumors. If those go well, I should be able to write more. |
