This is version 11 of the updated dsace.dll for testing. You do not need to install it to play on the server. This is for testing and it still has some bugs.

YOU WILL BE KICKED BY THE SERVER IF YOU ARE USING AN OLDER TEST VERSION. YOU MUST UPGRADE TO THIS ONE IF YOU ARE USING AN OLDER TEST VERSION.

Installation:
  • Download this ZIP archive: http://discoverygc.com/files/dsace_version11.zip
  • Put ZIP archive into your Freelancer directory.
  • Unzip it from inside your Freelancer directory so that the files are placed into the DATA\INTERFACE directory and the EXE directory. Alternatively move the files into place by hand.
  • Write better installation instructions and post them in this thread. Screenshots should be included.
Here's a Windows 7 step-by-step picture guide. Finding the Freelancer directory/folder:

Remember to go up one directory to the Freelancer folder from the EXE folder when/if you press the "Open File Location" button.

Thanks to MS Paint and Error for the pics and instructions.

Changes in version 11:
  • Fix for asteroid field collision issue.
  • Turret zoom mouse wheel direction reversed.
  • One or two other things that I've forgotten.
Known faults:
  • The options->controls->multiplayer screen is a bit messed up - this is cosmetic and won't be fixed until 4.86.
  • Some people report the new/departing player text as being too big. I will take a look at it at some point.
  • The time stamp in the screenshot is not shown in the first one.
For the full feature set and past changes see http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=107918

At some point in the next few hours I will disable turret zoom as the public testing period for this has finished. Next time you will see it is in public beta 1.
