Jake Commons' Logs - Toaster - 09-17-2011

17th September

What a day. I can't recall ever seeing so many ships around Fort Bush before. That Tantalo girl was there too... god, what a *****. Flying around on her high horse, pretending like the entire universe was hers. At least she wasn't the only girl around. I met that Zoner girl, Concordia, too. She didn't seem as weird as the guys in the Crying Leopard had said she was. I might see her over on Freeport Four some time - then I'll find out whether she's at least as attractive as on the pictures that one guy showed me.

Haven't seen Ralusch for two days now. I hope he's still alive. Keeping tabs on a dead man will be a lot more difficult. And when will Lucas finally contact me about the information I've gathered? If I keep it on my ship's databanks much longer, it might get corrupted. And I really want that money he promised.

Oh well. Maybe I'll run into him on my way back to Four tomorrow. Heh. Meeting him and Concordia there would make for one helluva day. Money and some "dancing"? Hell yeah.

Jeez, Rochester is one mucky place. I could barely sleep there, with all those drunkards stumbling around outside my quarters. If only I could blow the entire place to hell... Oh well, the stay there wasn't entirely for naught. This one guy - I forgot his name already - was selling a Spatial. Well. I just have this thing for second-hand ships. And I dare say, this one was a beauty. High-quality armor plating, decent weaponry. And enough room for me to live in.

That'll be quite practical. I could do with a second home that I could take with me, instead of having to return to my Percheron on Freeport Four regularly. Hm.

Addition:

I finally got hold of Lucas. Well, at least for a moment. Apparently there's more going on between that Tantalo girl and Ralusch than I thought. Now I should find out more about both of them. Great.

But hey, at least I'll meet Concordia on Freeport Four in a few hours. That promises to be... entertaining. And, if I do it right, informative too. At least it'd better be. I really want that money. And I really want to get out of this mess before Ralusch - or even Tantalo - find out what's going on.

Addition:

Alright. I am now officially a cripple. At least for the next month, according to the doctors on the Freeport. Hell, this wasn't the way it should have gone. My poor, new Spatial. Junk. My poor legs. Nearly burned off of my body. My poor left arm. Paralyzed. And my poor face. Cut up beyond recognition. I guess I'd better write down what happened, before I forget.

First, I wait over at Four. Concordia should've come as planned, but no, I wait for naught. So, I jump into my Karasu and fly over to New York, where she usually hangs out, and sure enough, I find her at West Point. But before I could really talk to her, Ralusch flies by in a considerably pissed mood, so I follow him. After all, that's what I was being paid to do.

Well, that was stupid. I end up at the jump gate to California with Ralusch and Tantalo. Something weird was going on. Tantalo wanted to go "home" again, and Ralusch didn't seem to be too fond of that idea. The girl didn't really give a crap, so she flew on to California. Ralusch thought it was smart to disrupt a lane while I was pursuing them, so I took a short cut, got into my Spatial at San Diego, and intercepted them at the gate to California. In Magellan.

Damn, that was like in one of those movies they show on Manhattan. Hell yeah! But then, **** went down. Ralusch was really pissed, Tantalo sided with him, and my mouth slipped. Oh man, had I just told them that I was working for Lucas... no, I had to be the hero. I wouldn't budge, so they shot me up.

And now I'm a cripple. Lucas'd better pay me for the **** I've done for him. Because I won't do anymore.

The paralyses in my left arm has ebbed off now. It's good to be able to move it again.

Sadly, the conditions of my legs seems to be worse than the docs first diagnosed. In fact, they'll need to use a new chemical therapy in order to rebuild their cell-structures. At least, that's what I understood. And in order to do that, I'll need to be placed in an artificial coma. Yay.

They said something about two to four weeks. So, I guess this'll be the last you'll hear of me for a bit. I hope no one will steal my ships in the meantime.

Cheerio.
