I'd like to see if anyone would be willing to recreate something that an ex community member created awhile back. The goal was just another mid size transport and it seems the general concept was liked, but the modeler left the community. This is the old thread.

I've saved the images from the last few posts and will put new links here, in case those get deleted somehow.

There is a pot of credits going to the person who can model something similar to this, texture it, and otherwise get it to AD for 4.86.

The pot is currently [color=#33FF33]350m

OSI - 200m
Darthbindo - 150m

Looks like IMG line, made for transport from mining locations and rocks avoiding. I would like to see it skinned though:)

i think you will find complications with google sketchup when it comes to putting them into any freelancer mod. every edge made in the software is an end of a poly, but the edges are not connected, so it raises the polycount signifficantly. another mod in the making found out just recently, and all the models need to be redone.

that is, i am assuming it is sketch up.

edit : OT - the model itself is very nice and the mod could use a few more generic transports that are able to move more than 3300 cargo.

I've gotta say, it looks very similar to the ANS-Reliant, a class 4 Carrier, under command of Captain Foster, who committed suicide when he rammed the CNS-Volga to thin the Carrier Hunting Pack hot on the tails of the ANS-Endeavor and the ANS-Reliant Refugees.

Thankfully the ANS-Yamato was in range to assist the convoy and intercepted the other two carriers in the hunting pack and with the help of the 45th Flying Tigers, the Ronin Wing and the Yamato was capable of engaging and defeating the two carrier and their fighter wings.

That said, the model looks very similar to the Reliant, which is very basic. Basically a sideways train. I really like the idea, since the Reliant is beautiful, but really I think it's a little "Old school" for the current tech level.

The .86 Spyglass model was modelled entirely in SketchUp FYI. >_>

Very nice model, BUT!
Balance problems. 3800 cargo for an armored transport? No. I'm thinking 1800, 120% the democritus. Also, 8 turrets that can fire in almost any direction makes for a naughty combination. I'd suggest this firing arc:
This means that half of the turrets would be able to fire in any direction while the other half can fire any direction but directly forward, which would allow for more cargo or hitpoints while remaining balanced. Hell, might even be able to balance 3800 cargo.

I don't have the files for this model. I'm asking that someone try to duplicate Reis' work. Though, Gheis claims he got a model created using SketchUp working in game awhile back. I've no idea about all that jazz. I'd just like to see another open use civilian transport in the game and this is a model I rather like.

Note that armor, firing arcs, and such are not the domain of the modeler. They are the domain of the balance team.

The Sketchup problem is kinda fixed. Broken Bonds' lead modeller uses it and has got past the conversion issues. I'm not entirely sure how they did it though.
