To my lost cousin,
One finds oneself staring into a reflection in a broken mirror, the past is like that, cousin, distorted and shattered. I urge you not to stir your finger through it, lest it cut you on the jagged edges.
We have enjoyed, historically, a common bond. We share the same ancestry, and I am certain that those that watch over us do not wish us ill of each other.
Aside from the public trials, and brandished sabre's, the war drums and the cries of suffering that will follow them, there must be some common and shared understanding that we can find.
Before we march inexorably to war, cousin, we should first sit down together and share salt. A single meal, where in we can speak King to Queen. But, I fear, there are those that surround me who would never permit it.
I offer you this, I shall send my most trusted to meet with your most trusted. The two to speak over a meal, as we would. If not to end the spectre that is looming, then perhaps to understand it.
