Bundschuh - [BU]

1) Introduction:

When trouble threatens from outside, the people rally behind their leaders. Opposition parties either fall in line or are forgotten. When the Nomads came to Sirius, the already-flagging Bundschuh faded into obscurity, turning to piracy and common crime to survive. One by one, its old leaders fell victim to bad luck, age, or treachery.

Nevertheless, the name Bundschuh retained a place in the memories of the people of Rheinland - and, more importantly, the old contacts, warehouses, and infrastructure survived below the surface. Years passed, and even as the Nomad threat faded the Rheinland government and its puppet corporations became perceived by a growing number of dissidents as corrupt oppressors.

Socialist reformers working below the radar of the Rheinland government distributed literature and propaganda, working to create the critical mass necessary for a successful guerrilla war. In so doing, they turned over old contacts - some surviving revolutionaries, or their children. They chose the name of the organization whose laced workers' shoes they had filled: Bundschuh.

The Bundschuh of today fights for such socialist reforms as workers' rights, free and fair elections (with the Bundschuh as a legal party), collective ownership of the means of production, and drastic reform of the legal system, which they view as extremely corrupt. They believe the government to be corrupt and oppressive, and they believe the Rheinland corporations to be brutally exploiting the working class. While they would cease hostilities if Rheinland granted them a legal and fair political voice, they do not believe that this is a realistic goal. Therefore, they seek the overthrow of the Chancellorate in a popular revolution that will put the Bundschuh in such a position as to forge a political-economic system that will allow them eventually to step down and allow a democratically elected Socialist party to take control

3) OOC description of activities:

Our home base is Bruschal in Frankfurt. We will be blockading traders attempting to trade to Berlin or any other planet/station in Rheinland. Regular patrols will also be sent out to locate and destroy military personnel. No quarter is given to the armed forces or police. We will occasionally send armed patrols to Sigma 13 locating GMG and to Omega-7 after the bounty hunters. We will also be ingaged in "hard" crime, such as smuggling, if needed to put money in our coffers but we generally will look down on it due to the adverse effects it has on the Rheiland population.

If asked we will aid the Hessians in attacks to Rheinland holdings.

Bundschuh Political Goals:

Being reduced to pirates by the Reichstag has forced a deeper gorge between the once great house of Rheinland. Rheinland has been reduced to a fascist state with no mind for the people. Our main base is located in Frankfurt, but we constantly send patrols to the far reaches of Rheinland space. Our pride lies in a Rheinland heritage where we welcomed new comers with open arms. With the Chancellor showing such dark feelings to immigrants to our mighty industrial worlds, we took up arms after we witnessed how the armed forces acting like brutes, only cared for pure Rheinlanders.
Our main goal is to overthrow the Chancellor and his leading cronies and establish a new Rheinland with friendly relations to all. We also will stand against those who support Rheinland fiercely. Rheinland traders will face death or a fine/cargo loss. No quarter is given to the military dogs that beg at the Chancellors feet for scraps.

Y'know, I'd probably move SCRA up to friendly.

Wow, did I just say that instead of 'hostile, now!'? Yes, yes I did.;)

[BU] - Bundschuh - chopper - 03-07-2008

*Two thumbs up*

No complaints!
Good luck with getting some more members though.
I mean, it's not that hard to get them, but it is hard to keep them active.

[BU] - Bundschuh - Qunitinius~Verginix - 03-07-2008

Good planning! The Rheinland Nation really does need some true political enemies. Not everyone worships Das Kanzler and I'm sure the RM and RFP won't be happy:P

Nice post, hope it kicks off.

I like it. Change the tag to just "[B]" though. "[BU]" seems kinda redundant to me. Or maybe you could make up your own name.

[BU] - Bundschuh - Xoria - 03-07-2008

People are really going to get tired of me saying this, but here goes again :
Please, Please, Please, Please, drop the symbol from the beginning of the name. Just because already established clans use {, [, (, etc to start their names, it doesn't make it necessary, useful, or cool. In fact, I think it is the opposite of all of them.
Simply BU- is fine, or BU) or whatever. Just please, no symbols to start the name.

As to the rest of it, that is the most well-written presentation that I think I've seen in four months.
The Political posturing is perfect and the goals are well-defined.
My only suggesting is defining which Bombers are permitted. The Hessian one of course...possibly the Civilian and Waren Bomber, and the Taiidan.
Good luck surviving against the [RM] <---- (see, why do you want a tag like the fascists?!)

[BU] - Bundschuh - Dopamino - 03-07-2008

Actually, having a symbol at the front is helpful. If you order your comm list by name, then you get all the people who are in factions at the top, and all the rest at the bottom. Except for TBH, the BPA and you guys:angry:

[BU] - Bundschuh - Gryph - 03-07-2008

Thanks, people.

Xoria - Most of us are pretty new to Discovery, so we didn't have a very good idea about what bombers to use. I'll talk to Sabas about using the list you suggested.

[BU] - Bundschuh - onca - 03-07-2008

Oh Xoria..... what's wrong with []??? It's not like he's calling it ^-$$~!.:{BU}:.!~$$-^

Brackets are simple, non-cluttering, and pretty much a standard wherever you go. I mean, come on....

[BU] - Bundschuh - Vape - 03-07-2008

I have nothing to comment on, so
I like the idea, good job on the RP, looks well thought out.

Hope you succeed with it
