RP with player that you killed 10 minutes ago? - narchlojentak - 10-17-2011

Hi folks, I have question about RP.
Situation: You had conflict with other player which is from neutral faction to you (for example Police caught contraband smugler who tried to flew so they destroyed him or you met a pirate who attacked you so you killed him in self-defense). After maybe five or ten minutes, you meet this guy again just in next system from where you killed him.
How to RP this situation (because this is a little illogical situation)?
Possibilities that comes to my mind (maybe there are others):
1. Pretend that there was not any conflict between you and him in the past (because it was solved by other players destruction) and behave as like you met him for the first time.
2. Pretend that you thought he was dead but it seems he somehow miraculously survived, escaped (however it is illogical because he was for example in train and you really destroyed him far from nearest station or trade lane) and now he is back for revenge so you will straight continue in conflict (but he has advantage because sits in undamaged ship with full bots and bats).

Thanks for you advice.

well I supose You could RP with him - that he should take his lesson, and thank gods that He was safe from that explosion.

by ther rules he cannot attack You (so pirate or enemy should leave, run ect)
trader/smugler can pass You unless he again have an illegal cargo.
then by the RP you could give him next lesson.

Well, to be honest, it depends on who it is and who you are. The most obvious is the above: you act pompous and intimidating about how you won the previous engagement. You can also be annoyed or try being overwhelmed by his return. A lot of players also use the silly taunt "Wow, your ship repairs quickly!" I suppose it depends on the situation and what is going on. Really just do what feels natural for your character. That's the best thing you can do.

Remember, though, that as long as a trader returns, if you are a pirate, you may tax him as many times as you like. Honestly, if someone keeps coming back, he probably deserves it. He KNOWS there's an enemy there and he KNOWS the enemy will attack him. Rather silly to come back that same exact way.
