Chat history. A purpose. - William Frederick Cody - 11-04-2011 Is it possible, to still have them after changing a ship? It is totally annoying, to have ~3 open requests from customers, and when i change the ship, all chats are gone, and i cannot see, what there names and wishes was. As we have the DSAce.log, it is possible to "hold" the chat history, while i change the chips on one account? Chat history. A purpose. - SeaFalcon - 11-04-2011 -logappend :^) Chat history. A purpose. - William Frederick Cody - 11-04-2011 Yes, but i have not the time to alt-tab and search and re-read the DSAce.log and then back to the game when i have 2 or more customers in my neck, that want to deal with me. Chat history. A purpose. - KAWISH-ALI - 11-04-2011 Well i dont know any other way except this right now , Maybe Screen shots can help of that chat . Hey Maybe this anonymous guy can help you in this thread:) Chat history. A purpose. - William Frederick Cody - 11-04-2011 My question was more to enable it via an hook command or so - /set chathistory on/off Chat history. A purpose. - aerelm - 11-04-2011 Play in windowed mode so you can access the DSAce.log without having to tab out. Or... Take a piece of paper and a pen, and start writing down name of your costumers and their orders like a real businessman. Chat history. When you switch ships, your existing chatlog is not wiped - it just stays in the DSAce.txt file. Admittedly, in order to update it, you have to close it and reopen if you've got it open while playing... but I don't think that's too hard. Chat history. I think the "space-feeling" goes down a bit in windowed mode. Would work, but would feel and look bad. Also, i have to close-reopen it after each ship change. And also i have tried to note down each customers name at the beginning of my chareer. The "problem is only, that the customers do not appear each after another with some minute between. They mostly appear in bulks. Also, i cannot overview a pen and paper list with all my customers. >1000 deals and appearently >500 customers in space until now, i presume. I have a pen and paper list for the codes i have on my 4 ships, and even this list i cannot update between the deal in more than 50% of all days i am in space. Too many customers, too many deliverers, too much business to overview it all. ' Wrote:You want the -logappend command line argument. When you switch ships, your existing chatlog is not wiped - it just stays in the DSAce.txt file.It is indeed to hard, when you have lets say 3 other customers in line, which are waiting since 5 minuts or more. In result, the conversations sometimes runs like this: Cody: *switches ship for customer A* *deals with customer A* "Thank you, dear customer A!" Customer B: "Hey, now me" Customer C: "Hey, now me" Customer D (from an outer system in green letter, which i can't see as green letters on the DSAce.log): "Hey, would you please answer?" Cody, to customer A, B and C on different channels: "Would you please repeat your wishes? ... And then, a deliverer drops into the scene, and asked me, if i would like to buy the ~ 20 codes, that he has collected. ... Cody: "Moment please. I have to switch my ship..." ... And so on.. That sucks a bit sometimes, even if it happens only once or twice each evening i am in space. It would be much easier for me to care for my customers, if i can still see their wishes with pressing "Y", even if i have changed my ship. Chat history. Having the text remain in-game is a completely different matter... Maybe you should multibox, if possible. Technically, it's for the purpose for equipment transfer, so you can't get into too much trouble... right? |
