The player count will not be changed in the upcoming version.
While raising the count is possible, it creates server instability. One of the admins was/is working on a fix.

I remember a while back that someone came up with a system to link the server over multiple machines, adding server capacity. I guess the first step would be getting the FL engine to support multiple cores..
