Here Xoria informed us that Shetland has been moved to the New Anglia system in the new mod's beta. But also, that New Anglia did not make it to release and will remain locked.
This means that all the people who are roleplaying with that base, will no longer be able to do it, or will be forced to transform its RP into that for another base.
An alternative has been mentioned, to move the Luxury Liner to Cambridge, and for OS&C and Greyhound, it is acceptable.
So please, submit your opinion on this.

I am glad we took the discussion to where it belongs Zelot.
Now, if any Dev could please tell the difference between an eventual delay caused by completing New Anglia, compared with an eventual delay caused by moving shetland, I would just love it.
I just dont want to see people raging at us (OS&C) just because we dont want to lose our base.

But that is not the whole question. The question is not the comparison of the delay between moving the Shetland and completing the system. The system is not going to be completed before release, that has already been said. The question should be the comparison of the delay between not moving the Liner and moving the liner.

Well so be it then. When a Dev tells us how much time would that require, we would have a valid argument. Unitl then, despite you are not being a jerk (and I know you are not), all what you say will just direct hordes of enraged players our way.
People, we just want our base not to disappear. Is that too much to ask?

I dont know what kind of mysterious voodoo black magic the devteam here uses to make systems but when i was modding something like that didn't take more then a day to accomplish.
The base is done, it exists and they want to move it to a position in a system that already exists. Pick your poison the delay in the mod is moot.
Though again if cromdor or sathanas or whoever leads development in the mod required their weight in blood to be burned in the attempt of doing such a thing us old modders wont know otherwise.
Zelots straw-man argument aside, let put focus on where it ought to be. Whats the damn holdup thier so desperate to evade here? any answer i think is due to a whole group of community members. even if its.. i dont wanna do it.

I vote YES for not locking the Liner...and NO if the New Anglia is going to be released eventualy even after the 4.86 relaese and the liner is going to be there then moving it from place to place just for let's say few months...isn't necessary in the meanwhile the liner could be in RP being rebuild or repaired due to constant atacks from Gaians:Pso yeah I think people who are RPing with the shetland they will get by...and since Anglia is not going to be in 86 then leave shetland where it is ... I don't think that Galic agression will be forwarded into civillian sirian luxury ship...

If the base is moved devs will need to create new infocard for it, new rumors, different NPCs, re-route NPC patrols, create new NPC patrols, link the whole thing to stores/bar etc all over again, and let's not mention checking bugs for all of these.
While I understand why Greyhound and/or OS&C (or any other player for the matter) wouldn't like to see the base disappear from the mod, I am afraid this is too much time consuming.

Repairing the ship because of massive Gaian attacks would be out of RP so badly:lol:
Thanks Huggie for the info on how much does it take to move the ship. We could help with the writing of whatever needs to be re-written, all that's left is a Dev to tell us how much time would it take to fix all the stuff that's tied to the base location.
We must have some minimum amount of delay days to spare on something that was never supposed to be removed, don't we? I mean, if the mod already has been delayed more than a year...
