Ships from another universe - Regious Tuk'Cone - 12-01-2011
I was wondering if it would be possible to have some of the vehicles from the "Angels Fall First: PlanetStorm" game, a UT3 mod that is beginning its dev to a stand-alone. Some of the ships have been made for Gmod in the .mdl format. idk if that means anything for converting, the addon for Gmod is a third-party "Software" technically speaking. Althoguh Homeworld ships are in the game and a few Star Wars, I dont see any harm in having AFF Ships.
For those that do not know what Angels Fall First is: AFF is a Mod that is currently in the dev stage in the Stand-Alone production. AFF uses the UT SDK to render both space and ground combat zones. Much like Battlefield's endless enviorment, just without the "You will be punished if you do not return" text and no timer. The ships caught my attention for the most part.
Just look at the ships, just the ships and you will understand why they might make great additions for Discovery Mod.

No - Discovery basically has a zero tolerance policy on imported models. When the mod was first established as a ship pack, it used a lot of stuff from other games, most notably Star Wars and Homeworld. Ever since then, we've been slowly replacing them with custom ship models.
They're not likely going to add more imports just when we're reaching the stage when all the old ones are nearly gone.

The AFF Dev Team also made a Homeworld mod using AFF ships as well. It not gonna collapse the universe for that.

It will. Most of the community members here are against any imports. This is FREELANCER mod. So, let's keep it at the same rails as much as possible.
EDIT: And ship's submission is over. Plus, I believe that new version of this mod already has some nice vessels.

Alright. But if someone was to take the AFF ships and change them dramaticly, could they used as submissions? (With the requirements set for submissions)

It has been tried with the GMS line, they used drone models from EVE Online. They ended up dropping them.
Look at a ships' design if you're in need of inspiration, but otherwise create something original.

Some of those ships look damn sexy, but as the others have said, no imports.
