Hello sweetheart.

I'm sure you'll remember me, even though it's been a while since we last spoke. I'm not sure if you'll actually remember that particular part, but it's okay, it's all just fine.

And well, you know, what can I say, I've been busy, I'm sure a woman in your position will certainly understand, and I'm quite certain you weren't exactly doing nothing yourself, no?

I'd absolutely -love- to just ask you how you've been the last one and a half years, and I'd gladly have a nice conversation, but, you know that I prefer to have those in person.

Speaking of doing things in person...

You probably forgot, on purpose and such, but you [color=#99BBCC]still owe me a date, 'cause you never showed up.

So how about you and me, I'll pick you up and we'll have a good time? Oh, and no friends. Just you and I.

Natalie Callahan;

The only time I'd consent to meet you is if you were incarcerated in a dark corner of a Naval installation, awaiting interrogation. I don't owe you anything, least of all a date.

The only thing I have to ask you is why are you so eager to meet someone who would sooner see your head on a pike for what you've done to Liberty? It's certainly not my idea of a holiday.

How do you expect to find out if you keep playing hard-to-get?

[color=#99BBCC]You owe me a date, without me incarcerated in a dark co... wait a second.

This thing with me you know, "incarcerated"... you mean like, captive and such? I didn't know you had some kind of a domination fetish going on, tigress. I suppose under the right circumstances I could be incarcerated and left at your mercy, if you catch my drift.

But I digress, if you want to find out -why- I'm doing this, then we have to get away from all this "head on a pike" thing and maybe see about doing some nicer and shadier and more... slippery things.

I know of a couple highly-relaxing places we could spend a few days at. Speaking of a few days...

I guess maybe you don't owe me a date at all. Not when you want to go on a holiday-trip with me as you seem to be suggesting in your aggressive-yet-sexy way?

Natalie Callahan;

I'm honestly bemused. What gives you the idea that I'm interested, and more importantly, what makes you so interested in me? Surely with your reputation, you could coerce or seduce any other individual. Why go for the one person who will say no, no, a thousand times no?

I don't want to find out why you're after me, nor am I playing hard to get. Your ideas aren't tempting, they're revolting. And how did you come to the conclusion that I'd want to spend my holidays with company?

Darling, I don't coerce or seduce other individuals when it comes to those matters. I am a businesswoman at heart perhaps, but I separate business from my private life.

[color=#99BBCC]And I don't much like forcing people into doing things they don't want on the private level, else I'd have tried abducting that pretty behind of yours long, long ago. That's not what I want sweet-cheeks.

I want you to come willingly. Even if somewhat reluctantly. Of your own accord still.

Just because I like you. Well and because I think you could use it, but far be it from me to assume more.

Though I've to say we're somewhat... similar in our positions, dear Commodore, but that's an entirely unrelated, and for this conversation, insignificant matter. It does however create some common ground between us, and I assure you that I don't want your pretty head to end up impaled on a pike or otherwise.

As for what gave me the idea you're interested?

You agreed last time, no? And you're still talking to me, my dearest Christina.

Natalie Callahan;

I could use it? Why is that? I'm satisfied with my career, and with my position. The only reason I'm talking to you is because I'm genuinely curious as to what you want to get out of it.

However, I'm not so curious as to put myself at your mercy. Your reputation precedes you, despite your apparent businesslike nature. Can you tell that I don't trust you?

If you want to talk with me face-to-face, fine. But you'll do it on my terms, which means you come to me. If you feel lucky, you can pop into my office on Richmond.

If you couldn't use it, you wouldn't have said what you just said last, no? Wouldn't give me a shot, eh?

[color=#99BBCC]Besides, career, position, that ain't private, that's your job and that's about it. Like -that- will make you a happy person at heart. And way you conduct yourself, as you too have a reputation my dearest Commodore, suggests you ain't that happy really. But that's not so important.

I know you don't trust me, too. Of course not, why the hell would you, reputation and all that jazz. Hell, I don't trust you that much either, you can be sure of that.

But if you couldn't look over all that reputation crap and positions and blah-blah otherwise, curiosity wouldn't be enough to keep you talking here. It wouldn't.

'Cause darling, you can satisfy your curiosity -after- you've me locked in a cell on Richmond or in the Durango's brig or whatever. That would be enough.

Nah, this here it ain't just curiosity. It's you actually being interested in this ordeal.

Of course I could take you up on the offer you oh-so-generously presented, but you know as well as I do that first it would be a bitch to get aboard Richmond, and second I can't completely trust you and much less the people around you with my personal safety. So I'd probably have to drive a small fleet up there and get the damn base boarded. That would suck for all parties involved.

I propose something else. You and me, on our own. Drive your personal bucket if you will as long as it stays with you and me being alone. And that on neutral grounds. Wha'd you think, kitty-cat?

Natalie Callahan;

I gave you a "shot" precisely because I know that, being the businesswoman you are, you wouldn't take me up on it. Hence the offer stands. As for my quality of life, I'm content, and have no idea where you got the idea that I'm anything but.

I resent you telling me what I'm feeling as if you know me. You don't, and I'm not going to meet you. You can't trust me and I won't trust you. I've nothing to gain from meeting you outside the protection of the Republic, especially since the only person more of a target than myself is David Hale.

Alright, now you're playing "hard to get" on purpose and not just being it.

[color=#99BBCC]I'll get to Richmond right this second, get myself captured, incarcerated, etcetera. Totally. But since you won't probably show up, it wouldn't be worth it, and you know I can't take your word for it alone. I'd have to bring insurance. You don't want that.

Regarding your quality of life, if it's that great, why're you still talking and listening and spending your free time or duty-time or whatnot with, you know, scum like me?

Why not do your job? Because this certainly ain't part of it I'm sure. Or why not spend time watching a holo-vid, or I don't know, stroll through a hydroponics deck of Richmond's - if it has one - with your lover, friend, whatever.

You are interested sweet-heart, somewhere you are, and I'm pretty sure that given different circumstances, you'd bite.

As for you and Davey-boy being such grand targets, I can help with that, but that's business and doesn't belong here.

One thing is funny however:

What gave you the idea you'd meet me "outside the protection of the Republic"?

I've had the slaughter of countless Blue Man Group warships arranged a year ago, I even saw the Durango itself be set on fire at the hands of some of my mercenaries and the Legion.

Now I'm not almighty, far be it from me to believe that, but I think if I wanted to harm you, I'd have tried already, just like the Navy's tried to get my arse in jail time and time again. But you know, that's business.

You and I, that's private, and I take good care of the people around me in my private life, I can assure you that.

Natalie Callahan;

I don't think you understand. My job is my life, and if I don't do it correctly, others don't get to go home to see their families or loved ones. This means that if I let you, or anybody else, affect my decision-making or prevent me from doing my job, I fail in my responsibilities.

Regardless of my personal feelings, which are irrelevant by the way, I cannot and will not let down my country. If that means passing you up on your generous offer, then so be it. However well you treat those in your private life, I would have to give up my responsibilities to pursue any relationship. That has dire consequences for others, and is not where my heart lies.

I hope you can understand that.
