For chatting in game, most factions just use the group channel.

Dop has it right Kacijon. Most factions group up when they come on and use the group channel for chat. Unselie, I think he was meaning an actual channel in game that is assigned to factions for private chat. Just like in big MMORPG's that have /guild channels for talking.

I think it's a great idea... it would certainly encourage players to be in an official faction... gets lonely out there when there's no-one to chat to.
And possibly have a 'nooby channel' for new players where they can get constant advice...
I'm not sure how easy it would be to set that up though because the Faction leaders would need to be able to give and take away chat priveledges.
I was a Guild leader in the horrid WoW and that chat system was fantastic for Guild/Faction management!

I think the teamspeak server is really underused. Although, a channel that sends a message to ALL Outcasts or ALL Bundschuh, would be quite cool. I think its probably impossible though.

I went to have a look at the teamspeak and coulnt figure it out... it might be nice to have a 'Teamspeak for dummies' post pinned here somewhere.

Voip munches bandwith and some of us don't have the same bandwidth as others...
