So I just realized that bomber turrets ought to fit on a transport, since bomber turrets are class 6 and the transports allow through class 7 turrets. DPS for the energy turret is is 3,752 which is 2x the damage for PGs (1,833) and Type 4 transport (1,515), so very attractive. Refire rate of 4.0 is decent too. Range is acceptable at 770m. The big problem of course is the slooow munitions speed, 350 m/s, which is just ridiculous
Anybody using them on their transport? Is it as awful as I think it would be

I think transports can't mount bomber turrets like BSs can't mount cruiser turrets. Never tried it though.

Sorry to burst your bubble but... Class 6 turrets will not be mountable on transports. They are bomber only. Transports can mount class 1-5 and 7. Class 6 is not included.

Yeah, even if you could mount them, you're probably better off mounting transport or fighter turrets. The speed at which they travel is ludicrously slow. You'll never hit anything.

I would mount fighter turrets instead of bomber ones. Its not an easy thing fighting a full goddes chain gun turret shire (maybe a few debs, too) in a snub ... solo.
