I'm contacting you to make an offer. Perhaps you've heard, but recently we finished work on a Jump Drive Device, with the help of one Jack Denton. The Liberty Navy in particular expressed intrerest in the devices, and gifted us with an Assault Carrier for the information we will be sending them. I woudn't like to think that one of your enemies should have such a prominant advantage as this, so I extend the same offer to yourselves. The schematics and exhibition device of a fully functional, safe, and above all, mass production ready Jump Hole Generator.

  • How large object can get through those artificial jumpholes?
  • Maximum distance that can be travelled using this technology?

A pleasure to hear back from you after such little time. You fair caught me off guard.

I'll answer each question in turn. Firstly, though this will answer more than one question, the device can generate a jump hole similar to every other jump hole in sirius, aside from its temporary nature, meaning the size of the object to be sent through this phenomena, and the distance travelled can be practicaly unlimited. Though larger bulk would require a higher energy usage, this will be offset by the very nature of the larger craft being able to produce larger amounts of power. The attached files we recorded show the Scarlet Pride in one of the earlier test journies, travelling across two systems.

The overall size of the device in question is, at the moment, just under 3 meters across, though stripping the protective casing would result in a halving of this size, at additional risk to any vessel using it.

Prequisites are no more than charging its internal core, wiring it directly into any ships powerplant is... Ineffective, as the energy in question is unlike anything humankind can generate directly at this time.

Lastly, we get onto the unfortunate case of what payment we would require, providing ofcourse, you are still interested in our technology. As said before, the Assault Carrier we where gifted is a large investment for anyone. Be it house navies, or a private organisation like us, more so for the latter. We would request use of one of your own battleships, to act as close escort for this refurbished craft.

Straight to business.

Osiris battleship is completely out of question. We do not have as much resources to spare and enough to say, we are very dissapointed in previous tech share of that kind of magnitude which results propably you know already. Each of our capital ship models is best guarded in order to not repeat mistakes of past. You need to think about other form of payment.

Standard jump drives have been in use on Osiris-class vessels for more nearly two decades now, and the Order Science Division has recently completed construction of, and will soon be field testing, a Jump-Projection Drive of our own based on previous Hypergate experimentation and designs. Once preliminary testing is completed by the OSD flagship Pakhet, the Jump-Projection Drive will be pushed to manufacturing and available for install on all Order vessels of destroyer class or larger."

Jump-Projection Drive Information:

Commonly, and incorrectly, referred to as a 'standard' jump drive, the Jump Projection Drive is one of the most valuable pieces of experimental technology in The Order's possession. Based on the early hypergate experiments and designs which were largely unsuccessful in their goal, the Jump Projection Drive is an entirely new type of jump drive system. Utilizing Control crystals recovered from a dig site on Planet Nauru, the Jump Projection Drive is capable of creating an artificial jump hole and, through manipulation of the jump hole's gravity field, can designate an exit point for it.

The jump hole created by the drive emitter can be sustained for up to ten minutes at a time, and the endpoint is accurate within a 50,000 kilometer radius of the chosen destination. Due to the level of inaccuracy, while relatively low for the distances involved, care must be taken to choose locations of sufficient distance from stars, planets, asteroid fields, or other solar bodies. Once the Pakhet enters the artifical jump hole, the emitter is no longer linked with the entrance, and the jump hole collapses, preventing potential pursuit by enemy forces.

The range limitation of the Jump Projection Drive has not yet been reached, but based on theoretical power consumption rate, the drive is incapable of making jumps over distances further than 1,000 lightyears, and the destination error allowance grows as that distance increases.

We where, in fact, informed of your organisations level of Jump technology, and our own is far in excess of that, with an accuracy far superior by far than devices other organisations have developed, thanks to our close relation with Mister Jack Denton, widely acknowledged as the most prominent scientist in this area.

In this regard, I'd also like to question where your science department managed to build a device, as questions to a member of yours revealed you had not had any devlopment of the device untill recently. Without any contact with other regarded scientists already established in this area, I'm afraid I must conclude you are using Nomadic Technology, a regretable use in your organisation, no?

As to payment, if you don't take your departments.... Questionable device, we may be able to negotiate something.

I highly regret to inform you of your misinformation. Jump Drives have been present on Order ships for awhile. I know of four ships affiliated or built by the Order:

JV-1 Assault/Electtronic Warfare Osiris "Oathkeeper"
RV-7 Advanced Warning and Control Ship "Ghost Eye"

Are two of then which sport highly experimental Jump Drives. While I am sure Mister Denton is an expert, that does not mean we have to trust him without question.

Now, I find it rude you accuse us of such use of Nomad technologies, and very unproffessional.

Now, I do see that the way Commander Staite presented it was literally out of the blue, but your response was unneeded.

I am highly dissapointed by your behaviour considering we have no reasons to go hostile. Commander Staite I want this to be last time you ever said anyone from outside about level of our technology. I am also fully aware what we do possess. We're covert organisation for a reason and disclosing informations about that high classified tech won't be tolerated. And if you cared enough we might have perhaps another device on which we could upgrade our existing drives within REASONABLE price if you let me handle it. In short I never planned to give any Order vessel.
