Transmission to Atlas - Garrick - 12-12-2011
The view-screen flickers to life, at first nothing comes in to focus, but eventually you can see the image of a man through a field of static that doesn't appear to be clearing up any better. After messing with some more adjustments, you can get the audio to come as well.
"This is Captain Garrick of the LucrativeTransport.Inc. calling my old friend Atlas, do you get this signal Atlas?"
The image in the vid, makes some adjustments off-screen in an attempt to boost the signal.
"Again this is Captain Tomarrian Garrick of the BorderWorlds tradeship LucrativeTransport.Inc. calling Atlas. My ship was struck an asteroid on a cargo run using the back-lanes. The asteroid punched through my engineering sections of my ship. I was knocked off course and brought down in the gravity well of a large moon. Until recently I was stranded for almost a year with no means of calling for help."
There some static and the image fades out, but after a bit the signal comes back.
"My ship was a loss as well as most of my crew. Atlas if you have received this message, please contact me back. I need some help my friend to get back on my feet."
Garrick looks off screen as if talking to someone else and shakes his head in doubt as the image fades.
Transmission to Atlas - Garrick - 12-13-2011
The view screen again comes to life, this time much more clear than before. The audio comes in much clearer to, possibly from a stronger signal source and a much closer location.
"Greetings again friend. I hope you can get one of these messages. I had run into some trouble, but I currently have a Rhino that I've been hauling with, getting back in the game after being out of the trade lanes for so long."
He looks off screen again and makes a few more adjustments, before the screen flickers out of focus and then off.
Transmission to Atlas - Marcus - 12-14-2011

Snorting awake Marcus glaces around for the source of sound that awoken him. Stumbling over to his comm planel he sits heavily in his chair before flicking through his awaiting messages. Moving to record a return message he notices his morning apperence in the screen reflection, muttering about early morning starts he instead starts typing out a hasty reply.

Garrick my old freind, it has been some time indeed since I've last heard from you. Of course I'll give you what help I can, if you're near New London I know a few people who might be able to get you a ship. If you're out of Bretonia I can get my younger brother to give you a lift back here on one of the outgoing Gateway convoys.

Transmission to Atlas - Garrick - 12-14-2011
Garrick, at the controls of a small Rhino called "Start'n-up" navigates through the helium field in the Pennsylvania system looking for more rocks to mine, when he recieves the message from his friend. He smiles to himself apon reading the message. He finishes filling his hold and sets course for Arrenmore. Once in-route and cruise drives set, he works on a reply.
"My friend, wonderful to hear from you. My junker of a father-n-law tracked my wreckage down, and brought me back to Penn. Then a cool fellow by the name "Cid" fronted me this Rhino. I've been mining helium to get started back up. It appears most of the groups I used to work with have new leaders, so I have to improve a few reps, of course I lost all my starmaps on the wreck.
Let me make my way to Bretonia in the "Start'n-up" and as soon as I can get back into another Borderworlds transport, I will rename it the "Lucrative". I look forward to seeing you again my friend."
Garrick sends his message and then checks his navigation before leaning back in the chair and taking a nap.

It's good to see your misfortune hasn't dulled your enterprising spirt. Good news here, I've managed to track down a Borderworlds Transports, it's not in the best of shape having spent some time in a ship scrap yard but with a bit of work it can be made spaceworthy again. Make your way to New London when you can and we'll see about getting you back into the trading captains chair.

Mean while back at Newark Station in the New York system, Garrick finishes up some paperwork at the ship-dealers office. After transferring some equipment from the Rhino to an Anki freighter, he prepares to leave and then notices a message.
He smiles as he reads it and then verifies the encrypted packet with the ships codes was recieved. He then plots a course back to the helium field in Pennsylvania system for a few quick runs before eventually heading to Bretonia/Gallia border to start work on this old BorderWorlds Tradeship.
As the Anki cruises through the tradelanes, Garrick starts to plan on his next moves. "Maybe I can get in touch with CID and get in contact with his suppliers".
