Was thinking of making a freighter to pew with, yet, I just can't seem to pick as I haven't really used a freighter for combat before, other than the Correo that is.
So yeah, a little help ?
Was thinking of a Clydesdale though..
Edit: Oh yeah, putting in some pros and cons when suggesting a freighter would be nice (sun)

Problem with most good freighters is that they're not allowed for Generic IDs, such as the CSF, arguably the best freighter around, yet Junker only...
*sigh*
I'd go with a Dromedary but it doesn't really have the firepower...

If you go for a generic ID, I suggest you taking Anki. It has decent firepower, I have Samura one.
For the Clydesdale, I'm not sure if it's open use. If it is, then go for it instead of Anki.

What about the Anki?
Has also 7 forwad firing turrets, and a nice hull. Only his power recharge lacks.
And it'll get a new model.
