Guten abend sir,

I have a report to make that I feel must go directly to yourself before anyone else knows of it. For this reason I transmit my patrol report to you sir.

http://i41.tinypic.com/wqofvr.jpg

David Hale, the one and only, was found alone at Freeport 2. We were on a regular harassment mission, moving into the Texas system when we came within scanner range. It took us a while to realize just what was happening, as the man in question was transmitting a blank transponder and was piloting a saber. There is no doubt in my mind that this was the one and only David Hale. His voice sounded exactly alike, and his ego was characteristic of Hale. Whatever the case, once we got back to Altona, I ran a database match and the voice IDed positive.

We confronted the Libertonian fleet admiral with our small fighter wing. I did my best to pry the information of why he was there out of him. I didn't get much information and fighting ensued. We lost two fighters, thought he pods were recovered, while the Libertonians lost 2 fighters and a heavy cruiser.

While this might add up to statistical victory, the information I gleaned, I feel, is much more importent. Why was David Hale alone on freeport two, so close to Rheinland space? What I got out of him was This.

David Hale stated that he was opposed to the war and was trying to end it. He made a reference to meeting someone multiple times and 'having a meeting to keep.' as though we were interrupting him. The reasons for his meeting, and I quote him, was "the treat in the omegas, das wilde." Also mentioned was the Gallics, of which Hale had no doubt would beat Bretonia to a bloody pulp and then turn on liberty. The most interesting piece garnered however was his 'proof.' He mentioned a Heinrik Drum and Felecia Drum. He also said that he knew Felicia's condition and seemed to hint at her going through infestation by the nomads.

This is highly unusual and strange Admiral, and opens many many questions that are now unanswered. I can peace together no clear picture myself but with your attention, and perhaps the attention of our other agencies, this matter can be looked into professionally. Something brought David hale so close to Rheinland without an escort. Something having to do with a meeting, the nomads, former Rheinland command officers, and the Gallians.

I hope this can be looked into properly. As a solder, I have learned to follow my gut and I have an extremely uneasy feeling about this situation.

Rheinland Military High Command Officer,

Vizeadmiral Hans Putzkammer

SUBJECT: David Hale

Herr Putzkammer,

First of all, you and your men acted in the best possible way in that situation. I’ve met with David Hale several times in the last two months , majority was in Hamburg, and al I heard from his side is „I don’t want to be here.”. So, his attitude about the Rheinland – Liberty war does not surprise me.

There are a lot of questions waiting to be answered about this situation indeed. It seems Hale want to jump out of the war, which is not possible, until the last libertonian soldier leave Hamburg, I hope he understands this. Thank you for informing me about this situation, Vizeadmiral, however I want answers! Whom Hale met? What was the purpose of the meeting?

Until we have this situation under control, we should contact either the Buro der Marineintelligenz or the Marinenachrichtendienst. I’m going to contact one of my best agents as well.

One more thing. Do not spread what you’ve seen there. I don’t want anybody else to know about this. Not even rumors! Am I clear?
Signed,

Admiral Joachim Landers,
High Command,
Rheinland Hauptflotte.
