Chain Guns Poll - Igiss - 03-08-2006
So, like I promised, I'm opening poll about chaingun models.
Should we leave the current chaingun model by Nova Design intact, or should we change it to something that looks more like original Freelancer? There are original guns that look like chainguns, so we won't lose much. Waiting for your votes and opinions.

I voted change them to something more FL like.
The current model ruins the ship's "aerodinamics". Also, i dont think that energy weapons need a rotating barrel to attain a higher rate of fire.

I voted for second option.
But it doesn't have to be one of the FL looking guns.

I voted for a Change, a good option would be the Tizon Del Cids gun model, still keeps the Chaingun look, while being smaller and sexyier.....

Well.... You could leave it for the Chain Gun Solaris.
Though, the only ships I've mounted the Chain Guns on are the Rheinland Bomber and the Greyhound(I think.... 4 class 10 guns, HF) and they are invisible. It looks much better without them. So.... If making it more FL-like would take that away, I'm not in favor.

Personally I think the chaingun turrets are fine, they look like turrets.
It the chaingun gun models that need to be changed, at the moment they look like a chaingun turret set to fire forward.
Why worry if the guns ruin a ships areodynamics?
It's space people theres no need to worry.
I mean look at the humpback, it can fly through the atmosphere to land fine and it's a giant brick.

I guess there are not enough options to make chaingun turrets differ from 'chaingun guns'. Freelancer hasn't got so many versatile weapon models.

I suppose that people here refer to 'aerodynamics' as ship's appeal - how it looks, not how it flies. Everyone knows that there's no air in space... no need for wings in space.
