Freelancer Explorer - Titus - 03-11-2006 Umm, i installed Freelancer Explorer, and the Discovery system map appeared. If i do some changes, like making a new system , will this modify the installed mod? I don`t wanna have bad surprises. :( Freelancer Explorer - Retread - 03-11-2006 One thing you dont want to do is modify any of the files in this mod. You can however start a new mod under a completely different name using some of the components from this mod. The problem here though is not the mod itself, but Freelancer Explorer. Its a very twitchy program at best and tends to be inaccurate, causing conflicts in exe and ini filing system. (which can cause serious problems and crashes) Best thing I know of so far is to learn how to do coding. It isnt easy and takes alot of time to accomplish, but the results are a more stable game playing field. Freelancer Explorer - Igiss - 03-13-2006 Using FL Explorer is essential for several areas of modding, most notably object placement while creating new systems. You may be a great coder, but you'll never be able to visually imagine the map of new system to add new objects with precise coordinates. Although using FL Ex does require great care - for example, trusting infocard management to this program is a very bad idea, and all code it creates still needs checking and re-checking - it often contains loads of errors. |
