Brigand/IMG Diplomacy? - Drake - 01-12-2012

Quick question: What is the current diplomatic relationship between the Gallic Brigands and the IMG? I assume neutral-to-unfriendly, since the IMG have a truce with the GRN, and are potential piracy targets to those Brigands expanding into the Taus and Bretonia. However, I see business potential. Are they rephacked hostile?

Uhm, no, my question was what is the current RP relationship between the Brigands and the IMG, and are they rephacked hostile?

I'm not sure Brigands "love" the Outcasts, either...

Last I checked there was no such rephack. But I mostly spend time in Gallia, so it's not 100% sure. At least I remember having to CD IMG NPCs back in the times when +LE+ pirated IMG.

As for relations with IMG, they used to be bad, but then they went better (non-agression pact and so on). I haven't been in the Taus on my Brigand chars in 4.86 yet. In pre-4.86 +LE+ and IMG| were re-establishing our relationship. It was "neutral, but open for business", I believe. It's probably the same case with the Outcasts now.

Thanks for the info. I'm considering my options for playing a Brigand seeking to expand his horizons (and wallet) outside of Gallia.

Right now it's friendly-ish due to the Brigands also settling in Rousillion, a system IMG provided those fleeing frenchies with. I however expect relations to deteriorate over time - I'm not sure how much activity the Brigands can sustain in that region if they can't hit IMG. (And I don't want the IMG to become the next zonerzoners, using lore as an excuse to be piracy immune - doesn't work that way).

Yeah, mostly I wanted to make sure of the lack of rephack. The Brigands seem like a pretty diverse bunch, and it's entirely possible that some may end up preying on IMG, while others don't because they want access to IMG bases. My Brigand's gonna enter negotiations on a personal scale, and what the others do isn't his business.

Hopefully if I'm the only one then people won't flock to IMG as the new Zoner.:POf course, there's still the Outcasts in the Taus, so I don't think anyone's gonna be thinking of IMG as a piracy-proof faction.
