Dear Sir of Madam,

Let me quickly introduce myself, as we have not yet talked to each other: my name is Stephen Schwerdtfeger, I am one of the IMG Guildmasters and I have taken the opportunity to open up this communication line with the GMG.

It's no secret in the mining business that rich gas mining pockets have been discovered lately and that larger scale production has started in some of them. South Shields Refinery has received some samples and the test results are convincing.

The IMG has already been approached by GMG| miners and was offered to transport ore mined by GMG|, as shown in this communication logfile that has been made available to me today:

Quote:[size=small]GMG|Glorious: I contacted a Mike Shibuya but I think he might be having communication problems
GMG|Glorious: I contacted him about selling some Helium-3 to IMG
IMG|Anna,Blanca: "Could you please hold the line, need to take care of something"
GMG|Glorious: *keeps communication channel open*
('€¦)
IMG|Anna,Blanca: Sorry that all this is taking rather long. *she briefly sighs* So... what was it about again?"
GMG|Glorious: Gas! Helium-3, in fact. We got a lot of it, and looking for transports.
GMG|Glorious: To be transported to your very own station of South Shields Refinery, Newcastle.
IMG|Anna,Blanca: Right now, or a longer term contract?
GMG|Glorious: We were more in the mind of right now.
GMG|Glorious: We have 22,000 units for sale at the moment.

Taking into account the quality of the Helium-3 samples, the requests of the South Shields operators, the already existing offer as well as the relations between GMG and IMG, I am here to state that the IMG is interested in starting a cooperation with the GMG in the mining, transporting and refining of Helium-3.

The IMG will therefore send a small exploration convoy today to scout the safest routes, emergency detours, docking possibilities and everything else needed to be able to pick up full operation efficiency once the GMG has answered to our stated interest in this field of resource production.

I am looking forward to your answer.

Yours sincerely,

Stephen Schwertfeger
Guildmaster of the IMG

Dear Sir of Madam,

I just wanted to let you know that the exploration of the Sigma 13 and Sigma 19 routes were successful and would like to thank the GMG for the maps, vector routes and the guide that Gas Miner Naha provided for the IMG.

We encountered know enemies in the Sigmas, former Hogosha that are flying now under Farmer Alliance colors, but could evade them in the vast open space of the Sigmas.

The convoy arrived at South Shields Refinery unscathed, although with some delay and with the big amount, the refinement measures can be tested and optimised.

The IMG could offer to supply GMG bases in the Sigmas, as the transports return from Rheinland and thus have access to a vast array of goods. We could offer to ship the following resources to the GMG for no additional charge on every trip:
  • to: Gas Miner Naha (Sigma 13) - Consumer Goods (aquired from Bonn)
  • to: Gas Miner Naha (Sigma 13) - Mining Machinery (aquired from Dortmund)
  • to: Ogashawa (Sigma 19) - Consumer Goods (aquired from Bonn)
  • to: Ogashawa (Sigma 19) - Mining Machinery (aquired from Dortmund)
It's also possible to ship the following basic commodities without additional charge to Naha and Ohashawa if they are needed:
  • Food
  • Water
  • Oxygen

This is what the IMG could offer to the GMG and after seeing how GMG operates in the Sigmas, I am looking forward to making this cooperation between our two Guilds happen.

Yours sincerely,

Stephen Schwertfeger
Guildmaster of the IMG

Dear Guildmasters of the GMG and IMG,

this is Julia Morrow, transport captain of the Flower speaking. Today a small IMG covoy consisting of 3 transports delivered their cargo to New Berlin and contacted GMG afterwards. The GMG agreed to prepare the amount of gas that the IMG wanted to obtain.

The planning and the cooperation during the initial phase was flawless.
The flexibility of the GMG miners was good (IMG convoy was delayed due to two pirate attacks)
The transfer of the ore at the Gas Miners was smooth and fast.
The price of 5000 / unit (= 42,7 % for the miner) was fair and justified for the service (e.g. having the complete amount ready for instant pickup upon arrival)

This picture was taken by the cameras during the final stages of the operation:

I would like to thank the GMG miner for their work and their friendliness and I will gladly fly to the Sigma fields again.

Julia Morrow
Transport Captain

Incoming Transmission

To: Guild Master Stephen Schwertfeger
From: Guild Master Raikoke
Subject: Fuel
Priority: High

Message reads:

Konnichiwa Stephen-sama,

I absolutely apologize for the less then formal method that it was arranged but I am very glad our GMG personnel were nonetheless efficient on the transaction on the field. It has been difficult for us to get transmissions through Kusari to the other side for some time now but as we are noticing Kusari is getting it's house back in order and these minor obstacles are being taken down.

Guild Master Taro Katsuo is the one to thank as it was him who assured us in the council that he had it covered with it all explained to our field personnel. Our faith in his abilities, as always, has been served well.

I see you are happy with the price we had arranged for the IMG| supplying South Shields. We are pleased you see a fair value in this exchange, we ourselves needing to ensure profit on top of maintenance from the ever dangerous gas pockets of our nebulae. Everything seems to be working out fine, though, and we hope this supply line shall continue strongly for many years to come

Domo-arigato,
Guild Master Raikoke

Dear Guild Master Raikoke,

Thank you for getting into contact with me so fast. I know that long range communication is a problem in times of crisis, so please do not worry. It also happens to the IMG that relay satelites or other critical infrastructure in the Taus are damaged by fighting.

Guild Master Raikoke, I have some offers to make. Firstly, I have organised an office and an appartment on South Shield Refinery to be prepared for a GMG representative in case the Guild wants to be able to communicate with the station manager directly. It might also help the rather significant amounts of mostly independent shippers of the Gas Miners Guild to have an official representative of the GMG on the station that they can turn to directly.

Secondly, the IMG is interested in fixed buy-in prices at the Gas Miners in the Sigmas. Our transports were charged 5000 credits / unit on the initial meeting with GMG and Kishiro miners. I can give you the exact stock market price for South Shields Refinery, which is 11.750 / unit. That is 42,55 % that goes to the mining company, while 57,45 % go to the hauling company.

The rate at which the gas was extracted seems to be high. A value that the transport captains gathered was: 5 minutes for about 5000 units. That is rather fast, comparing it with some ore operations.

On the contrary, the hauling route is rather on the long end (about 15 minutes), crosses two borders and especially the Tau 31 and Newcastle stretch is extremely dangerous. The same applies to the Sigma 19 and 13 that are teeming with IMG's enemies. It could also be interpreted as an act of smuggling by Gallia. Consequently, there is a high risk for IMG assets in these operations.

Thus, we would ask for a lowered price to compensate for insurance costs, potential cargo loss and heightened security standards on these convoys and also around South Shields that has become teeming with criminals, it seems.

The IMG normally flies to pick up Helium-3 after dropping off ore in Rheinland. That means that there is an abundance of goods that we can take to GMG bases region before proceeding to the Gas Miners. If you want the IMG to supply the GMG on a periodical basis, the IMG would gladly accept.

I'll leave it at that for the moment and I am waiting for your approach to the questions I touched and the information I have provided. I am sure we can find a good solution, Guild Master Raikoke.

Yours sincerely,

Stephen Schwertfeger
Guildmaster of the IMG
