Subject: Harassment against non-hostile Gaians

Salutations,

As you may be aware, our family has been in contact recently with the Gaians, supplying them with much needed goods in these odd times. They've lost the support of their main suppliers since the arrival of our forces, and they've had issues concerning the stability of their leadership. These reasons were considered valid enough for la Famille to begin supplying them with basic goods, to prevent any form of mutinery from the part of the Gaians: if their needs are satisfied, they won't have their minds wrapped around assisting the Council, or such other deeds.

Unfortunately, the Royal Navy isn't too popular in the sector, especially since some of your secondary officers seem to deem it appropriate to open fire on all Gaians they see, simply because of their Bretonian nationality. Considering that the Gaians have already surrendered and signed a non-hostility treaty, this shouldn't happen at all and only worsens the relationship we have with them. To complement this touchy situation, according to what infos we've managed to gather so far on the Gaians, they have a large popular support due to the nature of their cause, and may manage to turn more people against the Crown, even if they're not a threat by themselves.

It is why that we contact you today as civilians of the Crown who only deem it appropriate and chivalresque to assist the Crown in enforcing its own treaties to prevent any further damage and slander against it by requesting permission to protect any Gaians engaged under unjust, if not downright racist, circumstances and use lethal force against agents of the Crown not upholding the signed treaties. We would not, of course, interfere with official Royal business, or prevent the Crown from acting against a Gaian judged guilty of treason, smuggling, piracy, or such other crimes.

We expect to hear your reply soon, as the situation becomes more and more irritating for the Gaians we are in contact with.

Signed,
Aurèlie LaBrise
