So after a 'short' game of Tropico 4, I have become curious about the weapons trade in the game. I'm even considering starting a weapon's manufacturer RP or just freight runner to get me into the game again.:)
What are the usual shipments to them again? Optronics? High-tempurature alloys?
Detroit is the only one springing to mind, maybe The Ring does it too?

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a rumor in Rhienland decrying Detroit Blasters or whatever they're called and supporting "Daumann Destroyers" or somesuch
So... it can be said that Daumann makes weapons and I'm sure the other manufacturing companies do as well.
They're really, really, large conglomerates when you compare them to todays companies.

Detroit and Daumann are the two largest manufacturers of personal arms. AP Manufacturing do a wide range of products, including ships, exclusively for the Hunters Guild. The first two, though, are real giants - even Outcasts and Corsairs get their hands on those guns because of their quality, and they dominate local and foreign house markets.
However, there are easily more smaller groups which make guns, like Bretonian and Kusarian subsidiary groups. I'm not sure who makes guns in Gallia.
When it comes to space ship weaponry, it comes down to much more noticeable existing factions, since most non-corporate groups have their own guns. That's not to say corporations don't have a hand in house weaponry, though. (ships, too)

Well, if you want to make a Freelance Lawful group, your two next steps will be deciding your house affiliation (if any) and as part of that, your base of operations, followed by deciding what type of weapons you want to manufacture, and for whom. Are we talking about personal side arms for corporate security forces? High range laser optics for the military? Mass manufactured solid slug weapons to be supplied on the free market? Experimental starship weaponry? Or my personal favorite, planetkillers?

Hmm, starting a small manufacturing ship in Gallia would be a good way to learn about Gallia and possibly kick some roleplay into the region of weapons manufacturing.
I guess I'd start with security weaponry since they'd likely be in high demand with Gallia being in the state its in.
