System creation is probably VASTLY more simple than ships.

Just trying to wrap my head around doing the 3D modeling is a nightmare on it's own, especially when I'm so proficient with networking computers and all that stuff :-)

So.. Yeah. System creation is probably the easiest to do for beginners.

Creating systems is one of the most complicated areas of modding, no less. Creating a good system with good object density takes much longer than any other Freelancer coding. As for 3D modelling, that's another subject... surely it more complicated and requires more knowledge. So yes, creating systems is easier.

If you want to create something easily, I don't think that you'll create much. Everyone who gets involved soon understands that it's much more complicated then it first seems, and a 'minor' feature mentioned in readme might take many hours of work, or even days. Money that you pay for software (3D software for ship modelling only, as there's no commercial editors for FL) won't help much. More useful to pay an experienced modder to make stuff for you, really.

You can find all tutorials you need at http://lancersreactor.com. There's a whole forum section with tutorials, and one good ship creating tutorial is in the download section, use search. Then again, to make systems you'll need Freelancer Explorer, Freelancer SDK 1.3 (or newer) and FLED-IDS. All those are available from Lancersreactor, so, again, - search.

Making the layout of a system using FLE is easy but the coding is what makes it hard. I suggest systems if you want easy. But your systems will be competing against me and Angel's.

Why competing?
This is not a competition about who makes better systems. This is about contributing to the mod...
