The Shark's Thoughts. - Tabris - 01-24-2012

Disgust...That was the only thing going through his mind at the moment as he viewed the specifications on the so-called 'Trotsky' Class Destroyer, as he read through the datapad's information this disgust only grew more and more.

Whatever XiaoBei was drinking when he designed that piece of trash he would never know, but frankly it looked like something he saw in a rather...Disturbing Libertonian magazine geared towards 'lonely women'...Finally having had enough of looking at the horror that he was expected to command he threw the datapad at the wall of his home, watching in satisfaction as he watched the pad smash into several bits from the sheer force of the throw. With a sigh he forced himself to relax in his favorite red-cushioned chair that gave him a good view of his front lawn, while most of JiangXi was a wasteland of horrors, he was in one of the few 'Safe' zones outside of the cities. The manor was also home to a Commissariat Storehouse/Laboratory hidden beneath the main house. Folding his hands in his lap he shook his head in annoyance...

XiaoBei's designs not only had physical flaws, he found several major flaws in the Power Distribution System that limited the full potential of the ship, they seemed to have rushed through choosing what type of PDS to use and decided upon sub-par Bretonian-made PDS, the only advantage is that it was easily procured as it was very simplistic to make, the bad news is that it had issues with vessels whose Power Cores were capable of generating much more energy than the PDS was used to...

Not only that he was horrified to learn that the Shield Generators had a 'hicup' issue judging by the schematics, from his calculations while they would be able to be used in brief firefights, without support taking some of the heat from the enemy off the Trotsky-Class than the shields would fail prematurely due to focused firepower penetrating the shield grid itself and striking the hull even if the Shields read at full strength.

Rubbing his temples with both hands he groaned, these issues should never have arisen, it seems the R&D Corps were sloppy as of late. Something had to be done....And soon if they wanted to be battle-effective...Rising from his chair reluctantly he crossed his living room and sat down at the computer-terminal he had built into the wall, it had a direct link to Mykolaiv Research Station.

He opened his C-Mail (Coalition Mail) and began drafting a message.

Code:
To: Doctor XiaoBei and Trotsky Design Team.

From: Major Ben Warner

"Doctor and Co, I have been looking over the schematics of the newest Destroyer Design and I must say I am disappointed, several design flaws have been made apparent to me after close examination of the Schematics and the reports from my first officer aboard the CPW Lithuania.

There are technical issues concerning both the Power Distribution Systems as well as the Shield Generators that are unsatisfactory, until these issues are addressed I can see no rational in deploying ships already commissioned under the Trotsky Design scheme. Take your designs back to that drawing board XiaoBei, drink some more Coffee and pull something out of your buttocks that addresses these critical flaws or I shall have to pay you a personal visit and phrase what my concerns to you verbally and slowly so you have no problem in understanding what I am trying to pound into your skulls.

On a further note, any/all further designs MUST and I repeat MUST be passed by High Command and be passed through unanimously, failure to comply with these directives will result in disciplinary action for failure to follow operational proceedures. That is all on this subject.

On a personal note; I do not know where you picked up the idea for the hull-design...But frankly it makes me want to throw up what I previously ate."

Signed

Major Ben Warner.
