So anyway.. I have tested my 'rewards for the rules' post and it works like a charm.
So here's some thoughts for those of you with the do-gooder streaks:
Xorias' post is unbelievably good, it covers 99% of what is needed for a great gaming exerience.
If you hang out in a lot of systems you will still see a lot of lolling, smileys, OOC Capwhoring and noobies trying to copy the AWESOME power of Pucks Server destroying torpedoes!
Bottom line is, fighting with some of these 10 year old uber pwnzers is fruitless, if you want to enjoy RP properly and introduce it to others then use a carrot!
You attract a lot more flies with honey than with crap!
So offer them $ for their server rules knowledge... it's amazing what a noobie will do for 10k...
the only questions that matter are the OOC in system chat, id/tag and how to join a faction.
Quick, easy and painless;)
On that note.. it would help the community a lot if the Faction recruitment responses were a bit more prompt or in some cases actually even answer the applicants...
If the effort is too much for you, no prob.. point them to me, I quite enjoy helping the noobies... anyone else willing to help might post here too...

Ya know Dab that wont solve it....your posts Reeks of *i dont want too do my part for this server* smell..Cmon man so f**king what if it means you gotta spend a few mill too get players on the right track.
i henstly think angelfire has a point...wave the carrot and the new peeps will come running doing what you want em too.

Jeah, it does help, paying them for example to escort you to bretonia for 400k (great money for a starflyer escort) and once they're there, pay them to do some missions and buy a bretonian ship, all the while stay in character so they can pick up....
it costs you like what 2M? and you have a player that can play, even if only poorly, still a lot better than getting an uber pwnzish capital ship, and not knowing how to fly or play it...

While I was smuggling to Bretonia from NY yesterday I saw jsut that. He hired 2 Starfliers to escourt his Rhino down to Bretonia and in exchange bought them small Bretonian crafts. Good Lad there, teaching the new guys how to RP

You wanted that post to be bad, so you saw it in the worst way. Thats your perception pal, don't pull your temper tantrums on me. I personally think its a lot better to stay out of NY rather than be in there if the OOC annoys or irritates you. Go calm down without throwing a tantrum in my direction please.

Oh, I offer over 1 to 2 millions to newbies who rp well. (Those are situations where I feel like cleaning my trader's account number by having nice shiny 5 or 0 in the end of a million...)
I think, we need some kind of big anouncement of this somewhere on the server. For instance, write it in one of the item when you start up a character. Or maybe, make a little "announcement satelite" outside New York (or wherever will be the new starting point), that mentions all the important stuffs a newbie needs to know, by reading the satelite description. something to promote things around for the forum shy people.
